For Wisconsinites seeking a vibrant, activity-filled camping experience that caters to all ages, Sports Unlimited Campground in Prairie du Chien is an excellent choice. Its primary suitability for local users lies in its comprehensive amenities and diverse recreational offerings, ensuring there's never a dull moment. Unlike more rustic campgrounds, Sports Unlimited provides a resort-like atmosphere with a fantastic pool, mini-golf, multiple sports courts, and even an executive golf course, making it a perfect destination for families looking for abundant entertainment right on-site.
The presence of two on-site restaurants, including The Barn with its popular themed dinner nights, means campers don't need to leave the grounds for delicious meals, adding immense convenience. This aspect, combined with laundry facilities, convenience stores, and full hookups, provides a "home away from home" comfort that many Wisconsin families appreciate, especially for longer stays or seasonal commitments. The campground's significant number of seasonal sites also fosters a strong sense of community, allowing locals to build lasting friendships and traditions, as evidenced by satisfied campers who've made it their regular "getaway."
While some "weekender sites" may be in need of attention, the overall commitment to providing a wide range of activities and services, alongside its advantageous location near the Mississippi River with a private boat ramp, makes it highly appealing. It's a place where kids can ride bikes, friends can play games, and families can enjoy meals together without having to organize extensive off-site excursions. For Wisconsin locals who prioritize active recreation, convenient amenities, and a lively atmosphere, Sports Unlimited Campground offers a complete and engaging solution for their camping and vacation needs.

We had 3 campsites reserved for 4 nights. Granted, the Mississippi was flooding. Our reservations should have been canceled by the campground. Our site was so wet we couldn't sit or be by it at all. The weekender sites r in dire need of work. The seasonal sites are beautiful but very tight. Train didn't bother us at all and the Barn restaurant was fantastic. Pool was nice also. Need to fix and spend some $$ on the weekender sites.

May 04, 2025 · Greyson HannaI was alerted by office staff and explained that there was a mouse problem in the caboose and they had been working on it. We stayed the three days scheduled. Bunk bed had mouse droppings as did the towels in the bathroom. Lots of mouse droppings in the window ails. The came in to clean and washed the towels. Would have expected a partial refund or something. Was told there manager would call. Still waiting. Really disappointed!!
Jul 18, 2024 · Kimberly Van HoofHad a nice weekend getaway with friends. Sites had full hookup. Bathhouse was REALLY nice, hot water and clean. Yes, there is a train and it is clearly visible on the map when picking your site. The kids thought it was cool. Bring ear plugs. Plenty of room to keep a boat there for the weekend and the launch was right across the road, very handy. The sites are all gravel without any grass which was not great but I understand the reasoning behind it. We had a camping rug thing so we survived. Seasonal sites have grass but no one is pulling heavy campers in and out of those every couple of days. Dog friendly. Nice pool, playground, and volleyball/basketball courts. We didn't have a problem with loud people. Everyone respected the quiet time. We will be visiting again!
May 31, 2022 · Chelsea LeeThis is a campground NOT A HOTEL. The sites were packed gravel firm and level. The sites have water , sewer and electrical hookups. There is a train track that passes by but the noise is not that bad and does not last to long. There is a pool and a golf course on site. We will be making plans for next year to stay there.
