The camp's focus on providing a foundational outdoor experience is evident. It's a place where the emphasis is on the natural environment and the skills learned within it, rather than extensive modern conveniences. This makes it particularly appealing to those who value self-reliance and the opportunity to engage deeply with the wilderness. The mention of its location being somewhat challenging to find initially, now being addressed by users, also speaks to its secluded nature, offering a true escape from more crowded areas. Altoona Troop 63 enjoyed camping here in June. Lots of space for tents. We had a hard time finding this location so I’m adding it to Google maps. There is a picnic table, fire ring, and bathroom at this location. You can get water from the equestrian camp that’s about mile away.
