Conclusion: Why this place is suitable for locals
For Floridians seeking an authentic and deeply refreshing outdoor experience, Tate's Hell State Forest Cash Creek Campground is exceptionally well-suited. Its most compelling attribute, as echoed by numerous enthusiastic reviews, is its profound peace and quiet and the sensation of being truly immersed in the wilderness. As one camper perfectly articulated, "What a thrill to find this beautiful, remote campground... you really feel the wilderness around you. If peace and quiet and nature is your thing, I highly recommend this park." This makes it an ideal sanctuary for locals looking to escape the relentless pace of urban life and reconnect with the natural world without having to travel across the country.
Another significant advantage, especially for a remote campground, is the presence of surprisingly clean and well-maintained facilities. The mention of a "clean shower room with HOT water" and available trash bins addresses common concerns for campers seeking a rustic experience without sacrificing basic comforts. The small number of sites (only 12 total, with six offering power and potable water) ensures a more intimate and less crowded environment, fostering a true sense of seclusion and privacy that is increasingly rare in popular camping spots.
The campground's direct access to Cash Creek via a convenient boat dock is a major draw for local anglers and paddlers. The prospect of "some evening fishing" right from the campground or launching a kayak for a peaceful paddle makes it a haven for water-based activities. Furthermore, the fact that the half-mile dirt road into the campground is "well maintained and big rig friendly" makes this remote destination accessible even for those with larger RVs, broadening its appeal to a wider range of local campers.
Finally, the presence of a friendly and helpful camp host, like Bruce, provides a reassuring human touch in this wild setting, always available for questions and ensuring a welcoming atmosphere. For Floridians who value genuine tranquility, clean amenities, excellent fishing opportunities, and a truly immersive natural experience that is accessible yet wonderfully remote, Tate's Hell State Forest Cash Creek Campground offers an unparalleled and highly recommended escape right here in their home state.

With only 12 sites total, six of which have power and potable water, you really feel the wilderness around you. The .5 mile dirt road into the campground is well maintained and big rig friendly. Highly recommend this campground. We stayed for 3 quiet nights in spot 57. Very clean, trash bins available and clean shower room with HOT water. The host, Bruce was always available for questions and greeted us when we arrived. We hope to be back!
Easy access for RVs and campers. Boat launch ramp for trailered boats and hand launched vessels. There is a small dock. Not ideal for tent camping as the sites are very open and there are only a few. There is a vault toilet facility. Each camp site has a table and fire ring. There is a nature trail and a shaded open area with a covered picnicking pavilion.
My kids absolutely love it and my family always go there for cookouts very nice
Quiet, calm and clean. Camp host friendly. I have rarely seen such clean restroom Note before you come: the water is not potable.
