The Saint George Island State Campground is located within the Dr. Julian G. Bruce St. George Island State Park at 1900 E Gulf Beach Dr, St George Island, FL 32328, USA. This address places it on the eastern end of St. George Island, a narrow barrier island that juts out into the Gulf of Mexico, separating the Gulf from Apalachicola Bay. This unique geographical position provides access to both the calm, shallow waters of the bay and the pristine, wave-lapped shores of the Gulf.
Accessibility to St. George Island is straightforward, primarily via a causeway that connects the island to the mainland (US Highway 98). Once on the island, East Gulf Beach Drive is the main thoroughfare, leading directly to the state park entrance. The campground itself is situated approximately four miles from the ranger station, nestled behind the dunes in the pine flatwoods, offering a sheltered and quiet setting. Despite being on an island, the drive is relatively easy, ensuring a smooth journey for RVs and vehicles towing trailers. The island itself, and particularly the state park, offers a sense of seclusion while still being within reasonable driving distance of the charming towns of Apalachicola and Eastpoint on the mainland. These towns provide essential services, unique dining experiences, and cultural attractions, allowing campers to easily resupply or enjoy an evening out. The combination of easy access and a truly remote feel makes Saint George Island State Campground an ideal destination for those seeking a genuine coastal escape without excessive travel inconvenience.

Customer Reviews
camped there for 2 nights. the whole place is just breathtaking. the campsites were great and the bathrooms and showers are very well kept. the staff was super helpful and friendly at the gate! we look forward to coming back again
Spent two nights here in Jan, 2022 in a 30' Class C RV. What a surprise! Beautiful layout, clean bathhouses (2), short walk to a white sand beach that seems to go on forever. Quiet and dark sky. All the sites were taken so please do not tell anyone Nicest place we stayed in over 30 RV parks. Watch out for the alligator. LOL
Very pretty park, nice nature trails and plenty of beach. Seems like most campers are RVs, here for longer term stays. Dogs are not allowed on the beach but there are a bunch of beach access points so you could perhaps sneak on with your dog without a problem. A few miles down the road there are public beaches that are dog friendly. The rule is that dogs must be on leash but if you go when it isn’t crowded you shouldn’t have a problem as long as you don’t run into a Karen. The campground has a nice nature trail. I’m only giving it 4 stars because any sounds of nature except for crickets at your camp site are drowned out by the hum of RV air conditioning units. I camped in a tent so it was kind of disappointing as it felt like I was camping between buildings buzzing with electricity.
A hidden gem in paradise. A well kept campground with very close access to the beach
Great campground. Spacious and well laid out.
