For Minnesotans, Tilly's American Travelers RV Park in Oronoco presents a highly suitable option for RV travel, particularly for those who prioritize convenience, accessibility, and essential amenities over extensive resort-style features. Its appeal to local RVers stems from several key aspects that align with practical travel needs within the state.
Firstly, the park's proximity to Rochester is a significant advantage. For many Minnesotans, especially those in the southern and central parts of the state, Rochester serves as a major hub for shopping, dining, and medical services. Having an RV park just minutes away means easy access to supplies and any necessary urban conveniences, making it an ideal base for short trips or even longer stays if visiting the Mayo Clinic or family in the area. This blend of rural peace with urban accessibility is a practical benefit for local travelers.
Secondly, Tilly's American Travelers RV Park is explicitly designed to accommodate RVs of all sizes, including "big rigs," with full hookups at every site. This technical suitability is crucial for the modern RVer, ensuring a hassle-free experience with reliable electricity, water, and sewer connections. For Minnesotans who own larger RVs, knowing they can easily pull in, set up, and have all their essential needs met without complication is a major draw.
Finally, the park's amenities, while perhaps not extravagant, are entirely functional and geared towards the RV traveler. Features like clean restrooms, hot showers, and laundry facilities are fundamental for comfortable extended travel. The direct access to the Douglas Bicycle Trail also caters to Minnesotans' love for outdoor activities, providing an easy avenue for recreation right from the park. While the on-site dining experience has received mixed reviews, the core offering of a well-equipped RV park in a convenient location remains a strong proposition for locals seeking a straightforward and comfortable place to park their home on wheels in Southeastern Minnesota.
Customer Reviews
They were packed and understaffed. Our server was trying so hard, but they were obviously underwater in the kitchen. Our app was brought out cold. At least another server was trying to help our sever by bringing it out. When our food finally did come, the Prime rib was black and charred. I've never seen Prime like that. It was shameful. The chicken sandwich was ordered, no bacon, and that didn't happen. Our server returned the chicken and replaced the Prime, but by then, the chicken was cold and dry. I truly empathize with our server, and having grown up in the industry, I understand being underwater, but I saw no one trying to pull these people together. No manager, supervisor, or owner. There is no team except the one server who tried to help ours. Something to look at.
The food is not worth stopping at, keep going to Rochester everything is over cooked no flavor, burgers are not seasoned over cooked, wings are brutal. And the saddest part is the bar tenders are slower then molasses on a cold January night. Don’t stop it’s a waste of your money.
Outstanding folks there at Tilly's, came to Rochester for the usual medical reasons, had some difficult recovery, but Tilly's let us stay until it was time to go, outstanding and compassionate people!
Breasted Chicken, tater tots & baked beans, done perfectly to our liking, all were excellent. Service was very good despite being very busy.
The food was very good, hot and more than enough to eat. The price is a little on the high side. Atmosphere is of a growing and active sports bar.
