As a Kansas State Park campground, Sand Hills Campground operates under the pricing and reservation system set by the Kansas Department of Wildlife, Parks and Tourism (KDWPT). While specific "promotions" in the commercial sense are not typically offered, there are established fees and annual passes that can provide value for frequent visitors. A State Park Vehicle Permit is required for daily visits, or you can purchase an annual State Park Passport for regular access to all Kansas State Parks. For overnight stays, a Camping Permit is required, and 14-Day, Seasonal, and Annual Camping Passes are also available. These passes can offer significant savings for Kansans who plan to utilize state park facilities frequently throughout the year. It's important to note that a non-refundable $3.00 reservation fee applies per campsite. For the most current fee schedules and to inquire about any potential seasonal discounts or package deals for longer stays, it is highly recommended to visit the official KDWPT website (ksoutdoors.com) or contact the park office directly. During the winter season (November 1st to mid-April), all campsites become walk-up only (first come, first serve), and prior reservations cannot be made during this period, which can sometimes be a more budget-friendly option for spontaneous trips.

Customer Reviews
Nice campground area. We set up our tent in the grass after having some difficulty anchoring it down on the rocky surface by the bonfire. The other campers/RVers were quite, friendly and considerate. The groundskeepers drove around periodically making sure everything was peaceful/clean, and even made time to greet us. There was an electrical post and water supply at the campsite, which was perfect. We will definitely be back!
I love this place, so peaceful. The park managers are so awesome and chill, very friendly. They definitely make your stay so much more satisfying. Dog and kid friendly, bathrooms have showers they are very well kept, affordable prices. For the most part everyone that we have came in contact with while walking the circle, neighbors camping, it doesn't matter everyone is friendly and respectable that we came across.
Beautiful little campground. Seems always busy on holiday weekends. The only problem is access to the campgrounds. One road in and out and it is frequently blocked by trains on the crossing. You can wait up 4 hours to get in or out depending on the issue with the train.
Everything you'd want in a campground except shade. Clean, flat, good restroom facilities and a nice lake (pond). I got there a little before sunset and left around sunrise so shade wasn't an issue for me but it would have been if I was there more during the day. I think I was the only tent though so shade wouldn't be an issue for RVs either.
We love this place. Our first time here and we will come here again for sure. Clean and well kept. Kids went fishing 🎣 and walked trails. Stunning little place.
