This article is designed to provide you with a clear, factual, and engaging overview, helping you determine if this park aligns with your housing needs and preferences in Southwest Oklahoma.
Mobile home parks, also known as manufactured home communities, have evolved to offer a variety of living experiences. They can be particularly attractive for individuals and families seeking more space than an apartment, a private yard, and often a more community-oriented atmosphere. In a city like Lawton, with its strong military presence due to Fort Sill and its position as a regional hub, finding budget-friendly housing is a key consideration for many. University Mobile Home Park serves this need by providing rental options that aim to be more accessible financially.
We understand that choosing a place to live is a significant decision. Our goal is to present a balanced picture of University Mobile Home Park, drawing from publicly available information and direct feedback from residents. This will allow you to consider its features, potential benefits, and any areas for consideration, ensuring you make an informed choice for your next home in Lawton.
University Mobile Home Park is conveniently located at 2804 SW J Ave, Lawton, OK 73505, USA. This address places it within the city of Lawton, a major urban center in Southwest Oklahoma. Its location offers a blend of accessibility to city amenities and a local neighborhood feel.
The park's position on SW J Ave provides relatively easy access to Lawton's main roads and thoroughfares. It is situated within reasonable proximity to essential services and facilities that residents rely on daily. This includes grocery stores, retail outlets, various dining options, and public transportation routes within the city. For residents without personal vehicles, or those who prefer to minimize driving, access to these amenities is a crucial factor.
Lawton is well-known for being home to Fort Sill, a significant U.S. Army post. This proximity makes University Mobile Home Park a potentially convenient housing option for military personnel and their families, as well as civilians working at or regularly visiting the base. The city also offers access to educational institutions, healthcare facilities, and recreational areas. While the park is located within the city limits, specific details on its immediate neighborhood character (e.g., quietness, surrounding residential vs. commercial) are not extensively detailed in public information, though its address on a main avenue suggests a degree of urban integration. The ability to commute easily to work, school, or other commitments within Lawton is a key benefit of its central location.

University Mobile Home Park presents several features that may appeal to individuals and families seeking specific housing solutions in Lawton, Oklahoma. These highlights often revolve around affordability and the convenience of mobile home living.
It's important to note that while positive experiences are highlighted, one review details significant concerns about appliance functionality (fridge, stove) and maintenance issues (AC leak) and communication with management. Prospective residents should inquire thoroughly about the condition of the specific unit they are interested in and the process for maintenance requests.
Based on the provided information, the primary "special offer" or advantage of University Mobile Home Park revolves around its financial accessibility, rather than traditional short-term promotions.
The key financial benefit highlighted by a resident is:
As a mobile home park primarily focused on long-term rentals, it is less likely to offer seasonal or limited-time promotional discounts typically seen at short-stay RV parks or vacation rentals. Their value proposition centers on ongoing affordability and the no-deposit entry.
For the most accurate and up-to-date information on current rental rates, availability of specific mobile home units, and detailed terms of their "no deposit" policy, interested individuals should contact University Mobile Home Park directly. Given one review's mention of communication challenges, it might be beneficial to inquire about the best method for contacting management for questions or maintenance requests. Visiting the park during business hours to speak with management directly could also be an effective way to gather information and see available units.
For Oklahomans, particularly those in the Lawton area seeking an affordable and accessible housing solution, University Mobile Home Park presents a distinct option. Its suitability for locals hinges on several key factors, especially its unique value proposition and the type of living experience it offers.
Firstly, the most compelling aspect for many is the financial accessibility. The explicit mention of "no deposit to move in" significantly reduces the initial financial burden, making it easier for individuals and families to secure housing. Coupled with a stated rent of "$560 a month and only paying electric," it positions itself as a highly competitive and budget-friendly alternative to apartments or traditional single-family home rentals in Lawton. This affordability is a crucial consideration for a wide range of residents, including those on a fixed income, starting out, or looking to save money.
Secondly, the park's location on SW J Ave in Lawton offers practical convenience. Residents have access to the city's amenities, including shops, restaurants, and essential services, without extensive travel. For military personnel and their families, its proximity to Fort Sill is an undeniable advantage, providing a close and potentially economical housing option. This blend of affordability and urban accessibility makes it a sensible choice for those who need to be near work or school within Lawton.
While one review highlights significant concerns regarding maintenance issues and communication with management, another provides a very positive perspective, speaking to the quality of specific trailers and a generally peaceful living environment ("Most the time you have people knocking, we didn't have that problem here"). This suggests that individual experiences may vary, but the potential for a positive living situation exists, particularly in well-maintained units. The inclusion of yard mowing services also adds a level of convenience and helps maintain a neat community appearance, which benefits all residents. The existence of "open concept" trailers with ample cabinetry, as noted in a review, indicates that some units can offer modern and comfortable living spaces.
In conclusion, University Mobile Home Park stands out as a viable housing choice for Oklahomans in Lawton who prioritize affordability and ease of entry into a home. While prospective residents should always conduct thorough due diligence, including viewing specific units and clarifying maintenance procedures, its low upfront costs, competitive rent, and convenient location make it a suitable option for those seeking a practical and community-oriented place to call home in Southwest Oklahoma.

The manager is blatantly ignoring every problem I bring to her attention. It's sad that I have to physically walk down to her trailer to make sure she knows what's wrong. This place is WAY too expensive for the quality that it is and everything is always breaking down. She knew the fridge was going out when we first moved in and made US replace it. It took weeks for them to even install a stove and now the stove has gone out too so I can't even cook. I've had to buy single burners to use; I should not have to do that. The air conditioner is shot and is leaking under the floor, causing massive damage. I've had it with this place, I could get a NICE apartment for way cheaper.
Jul 20, 2020 · Ziah StevensMy personal experience was pretty good with this place I lived there for 6 months but unfortunately had to move, they keep the yards mowed I lived in #28 it was a very nice trailer I can't speak for every trailer out there but my mom lived in #59 and hers was pretty decent too. You pay no deposit to move in you just pay rent and electric, it's better if your transferring your electric instead of getting a new account because you would have a pretty big deposit for electric, for 560 a month and only paying electric it's a great place to live. It's better than some trailer parks I've seen. Most the time you have people knocking, we didn't have that problem here. Hope this helps someone on they're decision. But on a serious note, if you can get trailer 28 it's and open concept and the kitchen is all white cabinets(tons) once we decorated it felt so open and bright.
Mar 05, 2016 · Mira GHas issues with people stealing stuff off your front porch when moving in and out, have issue's with mice, roaches and black molds. Also kids who will turn off your breaker boxes. But management was pretty good just don't Belate with your rent.
Jul 10, 2019 · william rileyProperty manager kinda does what she wants and if your Not her friend it's easy for your rent to get lost she throws a fit when it's not paid in cash I usually pay with a money order so nothing can go missing the homes are dangerous and the kids around the trailer park do whatever they want steal cause fights chaos in general the owner is nice tho pretty good guy does his best to make things easy for his tenants but he needs a new property manager someone with experience and who is honest
Mar 16, 2017 · Brently ScottRent is severely overpriced for the quality of the home. It’s very sad and disappointing that we have to go through the maintenance guys to contact the owner because the manager is a pos manager who can’t do her job and likes to ignore every notification on her phone. Tons of people are moving out and I just think have they ever thought why???? Money hungry heathens.
