In the world of camping, finding a place that combines full hookups, spacious sites, and a quiet atmosphere can be a challenge, especially within a beautiful natural setting. Water Valley Landing is strategically located at Watervalley Boat Landing Rd, Water Valley, MS 38965, USA. This address places it directly on Enid Lake, one of the four significant flood control lakes in northern Mississippi managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The campground is nestled in a serene natural setting, offering beautiful lake views and a quiet atmosphere.
The accessibility of Water Valley Landing is a key advantage for locals throughout Mississippi. For those coming from the interstate, it's recommended to take the first turn for Highway 53, which offers a straightforward route directly to the campground. A crucial tip from experienced visitors is to avoid reliance on GPS directions that might lead you to a turn near the Baptist church, as this path can involve winding through a rundown neighborhood with tiny, less suitable roads. Instead, using the parking lot near the church to turn back and find the Highway 53 route is advisable. Once on the correct path, the drive is smooth and leads directly to the peaceful retreat. While Water Valley is a smaller town, it offers a couple of good diners just 10 minutes away, providing convenient options for meals if you choose not to cook at your site. For mobile connectivity, visitors report having about two bars of AT&T service. This blend of secluded natural beauty and manageable accessibility makes Water Valley Landing a truly convenient and appealing destination for a local getaway.
Water Valley Landing provides a remarkable array of services and amenities, especially notable for a Corps of Engineers park, ensuring a comfortable and convenient camping experience for all visitors:
- Full Hookups (FHU): A significant highlight, all 23 active sites are equipped with full hookups, including electricity, water, and sewer. This is a rare and highly valued feature for a COE park, offering maximum convenience for RVers.
- Large, Concrete Sites: Campsites are generously sized and feature concrete pads, providing a stable, level surface for RVs and tents. This detail contributes to the overall cleanliness and ease of setup.
- Newer Bathhouse: The campground boasts a newer bathhouse, suggesting modern and well-maintained facilities for restrooms and showers. This is a significant improvement over older facilities often found in state or federal parks.
- Super Camp Hosts: Visitors consistently praise the camp hosts for being "super," indicating a friendly, helpful, and dedicated on-site presence that contributes significantly to the positive atmosphere and guest experience.
- Clean and Well-Maintained Park: The entire park is noted for being "super clean" and "well maintained," reflecting the high standards upheld by the Corps of Engineers and the diligent work of the camp hosts.
- Boat Landing Access: As its name suggests, the campground provides direct access to a boat landing, making it highly convenient for those wishing to enjoy boating or fishing on Enid Lake.

Water Valley Landing, despite being a "hidden gem," offers several standout features that make it an exceptional camping destination:

- Spacious Concrete Sites: Unlike many campgrounds with gravel or dirt pads, Water Valley Landing offers large, concrete sites, which are level, clean, and provide a stable foundation for any setup. This thoughtful design enhances the overall quality of the camping experience.
- Newer, Clean Bathhouse: The presence of a newer bathhouse is a significant highlight, ensuring modern, well-maintained, and clean facilities for restrooms and showers, which can often be a point of concern at other campgrounds.
- Exceptional Camp Hosts: The "super camp hosts" are consistently praised for their dedication, friendliness, and attentiveness. Their presence contributes significantly to the welcoming and well-managed environment of the park.
- Peaceful and Quiet Atmosphere: The campground's small size (23 active sites) and natural setting contribute to an incredibly peaceful and quiet environment, making it perfect for those seeking a true escape and relaxation.
- Scenic Lake Breeze: Its location on Enid Lake allows for a "nice breeze coming off the lake," adding to the comfort and enjoyment, especially during warmer months.
- Access to Enid Lake: While not explicitly detailed in the provided reviews, being on Enid Lake implies access to excellent fishing opportunities (crappie, bass, catfish) and other water-based activities like boating and kayaking, which are popular on COE lakes.
- "Hidden Gem" Status: The fact that it's not widely known adds to its appeal for those who prefer less crowded, more intimate camping experiences, making it feel like a personal discovery.
As a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (COE) campground, Water Valley Landing operates under federal recreation fee schedules. This means that complex, short-term promotional offers or unique discounts, as might be found at privately owned campgrounds, are not typically advertised. However, campers may be eligible for reduced rates if they possess certain federal recreation passes. These include:
- The America the Beautiful National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands Annual Pass
- The Senior Pass (for U.S. citizens or permanent residents aged 62 or over)
- The Access Pass (for U.S. citizens or permanent residents with permanent disabilities)
- The Military Pass
These passes can often provide a 50% discount on the standard campsite fee. A significant "standing offer" for Water Valley Landing is its exceptional value: full hookups are available for a reported $20 a night (cash). This rate for full hookups in a COE park is particularly noteworthy and makes it an incredibly attractive and affordable option. Hidden Gem. I have to share this place. Water Valley Landing on Enid Lake. It’s a COE Campground can be booked on recreation.gov. Someone did a post last week about it and I had never heard of the place. Google searched everything I could think of and could Find barely any information on it. I NEVER go to any place unless I can see a picture from a real person not a website and I am so thankful for the lady who shared this place last week because if it wasn’t for her I would not be here today. This place is amazing, peaceful and quiet. Our site is site 16 because I know that question will come. The park is super clean, well maintained and has FULL HOOKUPS for $20 a night. Couldn’t ask for a more perfect spot. Nice breeze coming off the lake. I hope someone will see this and come out and enjoy this place when you can.
Excellent campground run by super camp hosts. Park has 23 active sites and newer bathhouse. Sites are all large, concrete and FHU ( rare for a COE park)! Coming from the interstate take the first turn for Hwy 53. Its a straight shot to the campground. If the GPS takes you to the turn at the Baptist church, use the parking lot to go back, otherwise you will wind through a rundown neighborhood with tiny roads. 2 bars ATT. Couple of good diners in town 10 minutes away.
The dump station has no water for clean up
Great & clean environment to enjoy, with the family. Learn history facts, boating, swimming, great time here.
I'm only stone throw away but I come here often just to enjoy everything this spot has to offer
