Welcome Ceek Campground About

Nestled in the charming town of Welcome, Minnesota, Welcome Creek Campground offers a practical and accessible retreat for travelers and locals alike. Located at 601 N Guide St, Welcome, MN 56181, this campground provides a straightforward and well-equipped stop, particularly catering to RV enthusiasts. While experiences can vary, with some highlighting its quiet nature and convenient location, others note very specific rules. However, its core appeal lies in its reliable amenities and strategic placement, making it a functional choice for those traversing Southern Minnesota or seeking a no-frills, comfortable base for exploring the region.

Welcome Creek Campground, previously known as Checkers Welcome Campground, is designed to accommodate RVs with many spacious sites, including pull-through options for ease of access. It offers essential services that enhance the comfort of your stay, from electrical hookups to laundry facilities. For Minnesota residents looking for a clean, simple, and accessible spot to park their RV or set up camp, especially when traveling along I-90, Welcome Creek Campground presents itself as a viable option. It’s a place where you can find the necessary facilities to recharge, literally and figuratively, before continuing your journey or exploring the local area.

Location and Accessibility

Welcome Creek Campground boasts a highly convenient location at 601 N Guide St, Welcome, MN 56181, USA. Its primary advantage for Minnesota residents and travelers is its close proximity to Interstate 90 (I-90), a major east-west artery traversing Southern Minnesota. As noted by a satisfied customer, the location is "only a 1/2 mile from rte 90," making it an exceptionally easy stop for those on a road trip or looking for a quick getaway without straying far from the main highway. This strategic placement significantly reduces travel time and navigational complexity, a big plus for RVers.

The town of Welcome itself is a small, quiet community, providing a peaceful environment away from the hustle and bustle of larger cities. While the campground offers a sense of tranquility, its easy access to I-90 means that essential services and larger towns are still within a reasonable driving distance. Fairmont, for instance, which offers grocery stores, hardware stores, and gas stations, is only 10-15 minutes away, ensuring campers have access to necessary supplies. The entrance to the park is discreet, often marked by a "Truck Writers Insurance sign" before a left turn, as shared by past visitors. The drive to the campground is shared, maintaining the quiet atmosphere. This combination of seclusion and accessibility makes Welcome Creek Campground a practical choice for those who value convenience without sacrificing a quiet setting in Southern Minnesota.

The owner is a jerk and will talk crap behind your back to other people camping. Very strict on his rules. Can’t have rugs or a fence for your dog. He highly does not recommend pets in the camp ground. He will mow right next side to your camper and blow clipping at it. Only good thing he has going for him is filling propane tanks on site. He won’t let you show up if it dark out. He sites in the back window of his house and watches you and everything you do.i will most definitely will not be returning. Was not happy one bit.

We happened upon this campground on accident (behind schedule on our cross country trip and needed rest and full hookups). I am so thankful we did! We have 4 kiddos and 2 dogs, and the spot had a nice grass area for the kids. The spaces were plenty big for our rig (we even had space to put out the back deck of our 45' 5th wheel). The laundry facilities were so well kept and affordable that I even decided to run a load while we were here. Very clean and friendly facility. Quiet night, was exactly what our family needed to recharge. Tom was extremely kind, helpful, professional, and personable. Water pressure was excellent. Grounds well kept. Affordable. Absolutely would recommend to anyone passing through or looking for a place to stay several nights. We just wish our plans would have allowed for us to stay longer. It was the best stay we've had in our 3 weeks of cross country travels.

A nice clean, quiet campground offering tent spots to full hook ups. Near interstate 90, but you don't hear any noise. Back in and pull through sites.
