Customer Reviews
This is the WORST CAMPGROUND ON EARTH!! I have one star because there is not a zero star option! From the time I made my reservations I should have canceled and went elsewhere! First they made my reservations for the wrong weekend, then when they fixed the date they double charged my charge card. They said they could accommodate our camper (30 ft) they put us in a spot that was so dangerous to get into and out of, very scary!! The roads are difficult to navigate and the terrain is dangerous. Most of the campsites are rented out seasonally to “homeless people”. The seasonal campers NEVER MOVE THEIR CAMPERS, they live in them year round! Every site has junk cars and broken down junk at them and they are FILTHY AND OLD!! There are not many sites for campers for daily rental, the one we had had broken glass, trash, empty cans and mold on the ground. The seasonal neighbors had their electric plugged in to our electric post and we had to wait to plug in until they brought down an adapter so both campers could be plugged into the same box, very unsafe I would imagine !!The mosquitoes are the worst I have ever seen as they do not spray and the muck filled lake is right there. We had to stay covered in mosquito spray the whole weekend and my family and grandchildren were still covered in mosquito bites!! The photos show sandy beaches and a beautiful lake!! FALSE ADVERTISEMENT!! Every single thing in this place has been let go! The bathrooms are DISGUSTING and that is being nice!! They do NOT CLEAN THEM AT ALL!! There is NO ONE working at this campground doing anything to keep it up! If I am being honest, I was afraid for my safety initially, but later found that the permanent resident campers were VERY Nice! These owners need to STOP FALSE ADVERTISING!! This is not a campground for recreational campers and the pictures are from 20 years ago or more. CAMPERS BEWARE, stay here at your own risk!!
Every person we encountered that worked here was so kind. Our spot was spacious & had a really cute view. Very close to Sunset Beach which was a nice perk. We brought our kayaks so having 2 places to go so close by was great. We were told there were nature trails but didn’t get a chance to check it out. The site itself, kind staff, & proximity to water was worthy of 5 stars. The bathrooms were pretty bad though, I do think there was someone trying to keep them clean but other campers must have been contributing to them being pretty gross. For anyone with bathrooms in their camper, this would be a great place to book! Especially for the pricing, very inexpensive.
It was great to take my youngest son to wolf lake .it was where I learned to fish, catch nice size bluegills
So much potential, but a gross campground which needs a complete overhaul. When we arrived we were greeted by a very friendly staff who directed us to our site. It would have been helpful to have a map, given that the campground has a number of paths and areas, and the site was not clearly marked. We got out and began setting up. We were very happy with the view of Wolf Lake. Our first problem: The site layout made no sense. Electrical and water were on one side, sewer (we paid for full hook ups) were on the other. No standard equipment could support this layout, and no matter what you'd wind up with cords and hoses or sewer hoses laying across the entirety of your campsite, no matter how you set up. The next (and worse problem): Trash. More than just litter. It looked like our campsite was formerly a garbage dump. There was glass (tempered and cheap), nuts, bolts, screws, wire, shrapnel, women's underwear, litter, washers, and other unidentifiable debris _all over_ the place. I called the office to complain and they (literally the office manager and a kid) came out and tried to clean it. They brought a box of well-past-its-prime firewood as a nice gesture. She offered us another site. We towed our camper down to the new site and decided it would be better to investigate this one first. We found that it was not full hook-ups, which didn't work for our configuration. She didn't offer an alternative and said this site was clean now and she'd have the groundskeeper blow it as well, and did give us some monetary compensation (1 nights fees, but for a water + electric site. I don't understand the logic) We needed to get set up for sleep at this point and accepted. We wound up not hooking up our sewer until we were ready to dump at the end of the trip. Our front door opened right up to our neighbors (seasonals), who were quiet and tidy. Some of the other full-timers were not so tidy – lots of junk in the yards, run down and dirty campers. Everyone was relatively quiet and friendly. The kids playground was a bit sad – everything run down, the swings all lop-sided, an odd collection of old children's' outdoor toys. The water had good pressure, the power was clean. I would not stay here again. This place is a beautiful location, too far past its prime. We're left wondering just how so much debris and trash was all over our campsite.
I absolutely love it here. The staff and everyone I've encountered have been kind and courteous. Coupled with the beautiful pond and adjacent lake with nature all around. Large spacious lots for your RV and vehicles, plus a bath house and restrooms laundry facility as well for a very reasonable price. Great place to relax and enjoy yourself. I've already reserved my spot again for next summer. I can't wait, if it weren't for the snow I wouldn't leave.
