Are you an Illinois resident searching for a quiet, affordable, and conveniently located community to call home? Or perhaps you’re an RVer looking for a reliable long-term base in the western suburbs of Chicago? Margaret's Hi-Acre Mobile Home Park in Aurora, Illinois, offers a unique solution for both. This established community provides a serene environment for mobile home residents and, notably, also caters to those seeking extended RV stays, making it a versatile option for various lifestyles.

Margaret's Hi-Acre is primarily a mobile home community where residents generally take good care of their homes, contributing to a pleasant living environment. It’s a place where families can thrive in a quieter setting, away from the immediate hustle and bustle, yet still enjoy easy access to urban amenities. For RVers, it stands out as one of the few places in the area that offers year-round, long-term parking, making it an excellent home base for extended stays or for those who spend significant time in the region. While it may not boast the typical resort-style amenities of some RV parks, its focus on providing a stable, quiet, and well-located parking solution for RVs makes it invaluable for specific needs. It's an opportunity for locals to find practical, long-term housing solutions, whether in a mobile home or an RV, within the vibrant Aurora area.

Location and Accessibility

Margaret's Hi-Acre Mobile Home Park is conveniently located at 1100 Rural St, Aurora, IL 60505, USA. This address places the community in the heart of Aurora, Illinois, a city known for its historic downtown, vibrant arts scene, and rich cultural heritage. The location offers residents a blend of peaceful community living with direct access to urban conveniences.

One of the significant advantages of Margaret's Hi-Acre's location is its excellent accessibility to transportation and local attractions. Downtown Aurora is easily reachable, approximately a 20-minute walk away, allowing residents to explore the city's growing array of restaurants, shops, and entertainment venues. The scenic Fox River Trail, a popular destination for walking, jogging, and cycling, is also just a short stroll from the park, providing ample opportunities for outdoor recreation.

For commuters, access to the Metra train station is also about a 20-minute walk from the park. The Metra BNSF Line offers convenient train service to and from downtown Chicago, making it an ideal location for those who work in the city or wish to enjoy its cultural attractions without the need for a car. While some reviews mention issues with potholes within the park's streets, the overall accessibility to Aurora's amenities and regional transportation links remains a key highlight. The wide main streets within the park also contribute to ease of navigation. This blend of local convenience and regional connectivity makes Margaret's Hi-Acre a practical choice for residents in the Western Suburbs of Chicago.

Services Offered

  • Long-Term RV Sites: While primarily a mobile home park, Margaret's Hi-Acre offers a limited number of RV sites, and importantly, they are open year-round for long-term stays. They may also consider renting vacant mobile home sites to RVs if available, providing flexibility for extended visits.

  • Essential Utilities for RVs: RV sites at Margaret's Hi-Acre provide basic hookups, although detailed information on specific amenities like sewer connections at individual RV sites is not readily available in the reviews. Campers should inquire directly about water, electric, and any waste disposal facilities.

  • Community Management: The park operates under a management structure, which implies a level of oversight for community rules and resident support, though specific details on services are not widely published.

  • Waste Management: Like most residential communities, there are likely provisions for trash collection for mobile home residents, contributing to the cleanliness of the park.

  • Maintenance of Common Areas: While some reviews point to issues like potholes, the core function of a mobile home park includes maintaining common areas to a reasonable standard for residents.

Features / Highlights

  • Quiet Community: A consistent highlight from residents is the peaceful and quiet atmosphere within the mobile home park, contributing to a relaxed living environment.

  • Family-Oriented: The community is described as family-oriented, indicating a welcoming environment for households with children and fostering a sense of belonging.

  • Well-Cared-For Mobile Homes: Most mobile homes within the community are generally well-cared for, which contributes to the overall aesthetic and quality of life within the park.

  • Wide Streets (mostly): Reviews mention that most streets within the park are wide, which can be beneficial for navigation and ease of access for residents and visitors. However, it's noted that some areas may have significant potholes.

  • Year-Round RV Availability: A significant advantage for RVers is that Margaret's Hi-Acre is open year-round, making it a reliable option for long-term parking, particularly in the Western Suburbs of Chicago.

  • Strategic Location: The park's proximity to downtown Aurora and the Metra station (both within a 20-minute walk) provides excellent access to city amenities, public transportation to Chicago, and recreational opportunities like the Fox River Trail.

  • Long-Term RV Focus: It's important to note that this location is primarily suited for long-term RV stays rather than short-term or vacation-style camping, catering to a specific niche of RVers.

    • Important Note for RVers: While this park offers RV sites, it is not a traditional "RV Park" with typical amenities like extensive shower facilities or recreational areas. It functions more as a long-term parking solution within a mobile home community.

Filthy, full of deep potholes every way, small car will get stranded on the potholes, the city of Aurora is neglecting inspections for the safety and health of renters in this trailer park.

This is mostly a review from an RV perspective as this MH Park has RV sites. It is nothing fancy but a great location to park an RV for a few months. This place is mostly Mobile Homes - but they have a few RV sites set up and they will consider renting vacant Mobile Home sites to RV's if one is available at the time. The community is quiet, family oriented, mobile homes are generally well cared for and most streets are wide. Access to the Metra is about a 20 min walk away - as well as Downtow Aurora and the Fox River Trail. Don't expect normal RV Park type accommodations - but this makes an awesome home base for an RV in the Western Suburbs. A big plus is they are open year round. A final note - this is only suited for a long term stay. If looking for a short stay in the area - check out Camp Bullfrog Lake. They are open year round.
