For Massachusetts residents seeking an amenity-rich, family-focused camping experience with a truly unique backdrop, Bourne Scenic Park in Buzzards Bay stands out as a premier destination. Situated directly on the banks of the historic Cape Cod Canal, this well-established park has been serving the community since 1951, evolving into a vibrant, clean, and well-run facility.
Owned and operated by the Bourne Recreation Authority, the park is not just a place to pitch a tent or park an RV; it’s a full-featured recreation center. It boasts nearly 440 sites, the vast majority of which are equipped for modern RV camping, alongside a limited number of tent sites and rental cabins/lodges. The atmosphere is consistently praised by long-time campers, many of whom have been visiting since childhood, for its cleanliness and friendly environment.
What truly sets Bourne Scenic Park apart is its location and focus on family fun. Guests enjoy the constant parade of boats navigating the Canal, coupled with a wide range of on-site activities that keep every member of the family entertained. From the popular jumping pillow to the clean, warm swimming pools, the park is designed for maximum relaxation and memorable experiences, making it an ideal base for exploring both the Upper Cape and the surrounding historical areas of the Commonwealth.
Bourne Scenic Park is strategically located at 370 Scenic Hwy, Buzzards Bay, MA 02532, USA. Its position right at the "gateway" to Cape Cod offers tremendous accessibility for Massachusetts travelers, being only about an hour’s drive from Boston and Providence.
The park sits along the famous Cape Cod Canal, offering stunning, uninterrupted views of the waterway and the iconic Bourne Bridge. This unique location provides campers with direct access to the paved, 14-mile Cape Cod Canal Bikeway, perfect for walking, jogging, or biking along the water's edge and watching the ships pass by.
Accessibility to off-site services is another major highlight. The towns of Bourne and Buzzards Bay, with groceries, fuel, restaurants, and shopping, are just minutes away. Furthermore, the park serves as an excellent central base for day trips to Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket, as the ferry terminals are a short, convenient drive away. Whether you are driving an RV up to 50 feet in length or simply looking for a quick, scenic getaway from city life, the paved roads and easy access from Route 25 and the rotary make travel simple. The park’s commitment to cleanliness and a well-run operation ensures that your focus stays on enjoying the scenery and the amenities.
Bourne Scenic Park is known for providing an extensive list of modern conveniences and high-quality services, differentiating it from more primitive state forest options. The park aims for a high standard of comfort for its guests.

If your a resident you can visit the park and enjoy the amenities. My kids love the jumping pillow. The pools are well kept and warm. There is only a few tent sites but reasonably priced. We really didnt need a golf cart as the park isn't huge, but In did come in handy exp a night getting the little ones to the bathroom in a jiffy.
Aug 24, 2025 · Lisa GerenaI’ve been camping at Bourne scenic park since I was a kid. In fact I’m going this weekend. It’s always clean and well run. Bathrooms are clean! Golf cart rentals too.
Sep 17, 2025 · Bill HerrettWe stay at the same spot every year, the views are breathtaking, and the workers are always super friendly and helpful. I love it here! (Kind of pricey but it's well worth it)
Sep 10, 2025 · Ashley JudaExcellent park, Large spaces, full services, play area for kids and activities. Small market on site, which carries ice, cold drinks, RV items and a good selection of ice cream. Clean grounds, restrooms, showers (great water pressure and lots hot water) and very quiet at night. You can also have a fire. Lots of places to ride your bike and walk. People are really friendly, lots of seasonal guests, and loved meeting Jack (on official boat patrol) as we sat and watched the boats pass through the Cape Cod Canal. My only concern was the WiFi was constantly being dropped from our devices, making it difficult to listen to music or check weather, etc. Wish there was shade (umbrellas for the chair loungers at the pool) I would definitely come back and highly recommend this camp site.
Jun 27, 2025 · Susan GoodwinI've been coming here for 31 years. My grandparents were seasonal for years. My parents come here, I come here. Its a family thing. Its 5 stars for its location ONLY. The prices to come here are out of control. I get the views are what is being paid for but its outrageous the amount you have to pay to camp here for a week.... never mind being seasonal now, its unattainable.
