I just stayed at Maple Park for the first time . I have stayed at a lot of camp grounds. Through many years , we came in as a group of four families another family booked the camp sites . That being said when we first pulled our first impression was this is not going to be a good 4 days. We ended up having a great time and are thinking about booking a 2 week stay next summer . The pond was clean and the kids had a blast fishing , paddle boats , canoes, playing outside games . It was great to see them off technology and enjoying the fresh air and outside. For that reason alone I give this Campground a 5 star.
Aug 20, 2025 · Sonia MendozaThis was our first year staying at Maple Park, and unfortunately will also be our last. I’m not looking for five star accommodations from a campground, but our recent trip left much to be desired. Within an hour of being cleaned in the mornings, the bathrooms were filthy. With how many people are piled in next to each other, they definitely need to be cleaning the bathrooms more than once a day. On our last night, we experienced waking up in the middle of the night to a man yelling at security. This led to the cops being called, the man being tased twice and arrested. The whole ordeal took over 3 hours, and happened at the site right next to our tent with my sleeping toddler and 6 month old. Not only was it terrifying, there were headlights shining in our tent till nearly 5 in the morning. While I do understand that the campground is not responsible for what happened, I think that it was handled very poorly when we tried to address the issue with staff the next day. We were laughed at and brushed off by multiple people, and met with no sympathy. It is my understanding that this type of occurrence is quite common for this campground. I would not recommend anyone stay here, especially if you have little kids and value feeling safe while camping.
Aug 18, 2025 · Stephanie NicoleThis was our third or fourth year at Maple Park. We have stayed in the same sites overlooking the beach, which was perfect in regards to location, each time and that is kind of where the upsides end. The bathrooms are often dirty, the sites are tiny and stacked on top of each other, obviously to cram as many sardines into the campground as possible. The showers are no longer ALL quarter -run, but the free ones operate on a button system to reduce water use. one of the showers i attempted to use this week was broken but the rest were all occupied, so I dealt. The real issue is where we are located. the staff refers to it as the Hilltop, but my group has renamed it degenerate row due to the yearly problems we have with other campers. From late night golf cart cruisers not respecting the quiet hours, to domestic disturbances, and this year the disturbance ended in a taser assisted arrest with five cruisers on scene. did I mention we all had young kids who thankfully slept through this? When discussing concerns with the staff it was clear that there are chronic issues with the campers in this area of the grounds, but there was no empathy for the campers that were disturbed. They also require every site to have a gate key for a $10 deposit and they doubled the reservation deposit. All in all the beautiful morning view of the beach is not enough to offset the cons and this will be our last year camping with Maple Park
Aug 17, 2025 · Maryanne AldrichBEWARE!! Our family (a group of 4 families) has given this campground chance after chance over the past 4 years. The restrooms are not kept clean, the sites are not clean upon arrival (large numbers of cigarette butts on site without fail), and very small close packed camp sites. The final straw for our families was yet another disturbance during our camp stay-a belligerently drunk man yelling slurs and swears who was later arrested and tased twice by police. This was a TRAUMATIZING experience for our young children to have at 1am. The police, security and disturbance carried on until 4am. There was NO empathy given to our families and overall this is why we will not return. The staff we spoke with all gave us giggles and "oh well you're on hilltop so..." Not to mention we have kept the same sites for 4 years and each year there is a domestic disturbance which they failed to acknowledge. Understandably, the staff cannot control every person that enters the campground but guests should be treated with empathy and respect when these situations occur. Please be careful if you bring small children to this campground and camp on the "hilltop" area. Very scary.
Aug 17, 2025 · Ashley GelinasReally enjoyed this camp ground. Especially the pond. Was a little disappointed with the layout of the campground as you pretty much have to have a golf cart if you're on the far side of the campground. Most disappointing was the "fires out by midnight" rule. If there are responsible adults sitting by a fire quietly then there should be no issue with a late fire. After putting our fire out we walked by another site without a fire but they were extremely loud. Seems like priorities are backwards. Overall we would visit again.
