A very laid-back, low-intensity getaway where you can really unwind. The hosts were so nice and accommodating! The pizza and breakfast sandwiches tasted like they were crafted with all the care of one you would make for yourself, at prices you can stomach too! The weather was a bit dreary during our stay but the views were very tranquil and relaxing when the clouds broke. And last but definitely not least, those showers! Make no mistake, they suffer some of the same issues any camp showers do with bugs and moisture, but man they must have been the nicest camp showers I've ever seen, and I camp a lot! We camped there for a trail running race and dear lord that rainfall shower head and tankless water heater were glorious!! We will be back!

We had a great time staying at the Creeper Trail Campground this past weekend. The homemade pizzas and breakfast sandwiches are better than anything I can get in my hometown. The showers are hot. And the leaf change this year is lovely. Even though the Creeper Trail is temporarily closed at the top, we still found plenty to do with our kids at Grayson Highlands, Elk Garden, etc. Both our kids and us want to come back.

This campground is the BEST on The Virginia Creeper Trail. It's a tucked away hidden secret gem. I'm not sure why I'm getting the word out as you come here to enjoy the mountains and bike from the campground down to the start of the northern terminus of the Creeper. We have been going here for years. The previous owner, "Olaf" was a wonderful man. New owners are just as wonderful, too, with keeping the place up in good shape. Restrooms are clean. They have a large open field to support large camping groups. Individual full electric and water hookup campsites for tents and RVs are up on the hill. Every time we have stayed there, people have respected quiet hours at 10pm. It's never been a problem. Come check out this place and promise you will keep it a secret. 🙊 Shame on me for breaking the secret code. You won't be disappointed.
