Location and Accessibility

Evening Shade RV Park is conveniently located at 499 SE Hwy U, Clinton, MO 64735, USA. Clinton, Missouri, itself is a notable city situated in Henry County, offering a blend of small-town charm with essential services and amenities. Its central location in Missouri makes it an accessible stop for RVers traveling through the state, whether heading east, west, north, or south.

The park's address on SE Highway U suggests direct or very close proximity to a main thoroughfare. Highways like U are typically well-maintained and provide straightforward access, reducing the complexity of navigating smaller, less-traveled roads with an RV. This ease of access from major routes is a significant advantage for travelers who prioritize convenience and efficiency in their journey. For Missourians, this means less time on unfamiliar local roads and more time enjoying their destination.

Clinton offers its own set of attractions and conveniences that are within easy reach of Evening Shade RV Park. These might include local eateries, grocery stores, fuel stations, and other essential services that RV travelers often need during their stay. While the park itself might prioritize a quiet internal environment, its location ensures that guests are never too far from necessary supplies or local points of interest. This balance of being somewhat removed from urban noise while maintaining accessibility to town amenities is often a sought-after feature for RV parks.

For those exploring the larger central Missouri region, Clinton serves as an excellent base. It's within a reasonable driving distance of various recreational lakes, state parks, and other outdoor attractions that draw visitors to this part of the state. The park's location on a state highway further enhances its appeal for those planning to use it as a home base for day trips and explorations within Missouri.

Services Offered

Based on the provided information, the services offered by Evening Shade RV Park are primarily centered around providing RV spots and clear communication regarding park operations. While specific details on every amenity are not provided, we can infer some standard services for an RV park of this nature, combined with direct insights from customer feedback:

  • RV Site Acceptance: The park accepts RVs, with guests noting the process of being "accepted to have a spot." This indicates a structured approach to occupancy, potentially including a vetting process for new residents or guests.

  • Rules and Regulations Explanation: "Dee was very pleasant and informative. She took a lot of time explaining to us the rules." This highlights a significant service: clear and thorough communication of park rules, ensuring guests understand the guidelines for their stay.

  • Site Availability (Limited): While not explicitly a "service," the park's "nothing available" response to a drive-in inquiry suggests that availability can be limited, often due to high occupancy, likely with long-term residents. This implies that securing a spot might require advance planning or inquiry.

  • Property Management and Oversight: The "owner" being actively involved in monitoring the property ("came up to us on her golf cart") indicates a hands-on approach to managing the park and ensuring compliance with policies, which can contribute to a well-maintained and secure environment for accepted guests.

Given it's an RV park, it is reasonable to assume standard hookups (electric, water, sewer) are available at the sites, though this is not explicitly stated in the reviews. The primary "service" highlighted by positive feedback is the clear, direct, and pleasant communication from management regarding park operations and rules.

Features / Highlights

  • Clear Communication from Management: A significant highlight is the detailed explanation of park rules and expectations provided by "Dee," ensuring transparency for incoming guests.

  • Structured and Regulated Environment: The park appears to have a clear set of guidelines and an active management presence, which can contribute to a well-ordered and potentially quieter atmosphere for residents.

  • Dedicated to Existing Occupancy: The feedback suggests a focus on its current residents, with limited immediate availability, implying a stable and likely established community within the park.

  • Owner/Manager Oversight: The owner's active presence in monitoring the property indicates a hands-on approach to maintaining park standards and ensuring a secure environment.

  • Convenient Location in Clinton, MO: Situated on SE Hwy U, the park offers relatively easy access to Clinton's amenities and connects well to the broader central Missouri region.

  • Potential for Long-Term Stays: The apparent high occupancy and need for "acceptance" might suggest a preference or capacity for longer-term residents, providing a stable base for those needing extended RV accommodation in the area.

  • Well-Maintained Property (Inferred): Active management and clear rules often correlate with a well-maintained and orderly park environment, which is a desirable feature for many RVers.

My husband and I were looking for an RV park and wanted to look at ones in the area. We drove into this park and the “owner” came up to us on her golf cart and was quite rude. She asked what we were doing and then said they had nothing available. We thanked her and then she very was snippy and said we needed to exit the same way we came in and actually waited at the entrance for us to turn around and leave. I totally get looking out for the property, but being rude is not necessary. After that encounter I wouldn’t stay there even if there was an opening.

Loved this little campground at first. We bought a site for a year. But they crept up the prices. Then their son burnt huge piles of leaves right next to the campers/trailers. The one directly in front of our camper melted our windshield seals and cracked the driver's windshield, which cost us $1000 to replace.
