This detail is important for parents and campers to consider, as it implies significant elevation changes and potentially more strenuous walking for some campers to access various activity areas. Its suitability largely depends on what a family prioritizes in a summer camp, especially given the candid and varied feedback from previous campers.
The camp is designed to provide a classic, immersive summer camp environment away from urban distractions, set within the natural landscapes of rural Kentucky. For local Kentucky families, this means a convenient and accessible option for a traditional camp experience that can be truly memorable.
However, suitability also involves acknowledging the unique aspects and potential challenges mentioned in reviews. Parents should be aware of the significant terrain differences between the boys' and girls' areas ("2 huge hills" for girls), which might be a physical consideration for some campers. The unconventional nature of the "swimming" activities and the reported taste of the water are also points to consider. Despite these specific quirks, the overall sentiment from positive reviews points to a camp that, for the right child and the right expectations, delivers a "best time."
Ultimately, Camp Robert Webb is suitable for Kentucky locals seeking an affordable, traditional summer camp where children can have fun, develop social skills, and engage in a structured outdoor program with dedicated counselors. I went here this summer and I enjoyed it alot. I've read some of the other reviews and they all seem negative. I honestly think it's a flip of a coin, I got great counsers, bunkmates, and all my friends came. But others have had pretty bad experiences. But I'll tell you about my pros and cons that I think are most important. I'll start with pros; pretty nice cabins (considering the fact there 4th-6th graders staying there), the little gift store thing my friend purchased 12 orange powerades and almost died đ,nice counsers (they took song requests and got to blare twist đź), some down time in between activities, okay lunch, talent show, and fun activities. Cons; the boys get a sidewalk and stairs while the girls get 2 huge hills that connect to ALL actives, 2 people got heatstroke (they're okay though), the juice bucket... God, the people working at the lake they wouldn't let us walk fast when the metal platform was making kids CRY from how hot it was, the swimming isn't swimming it's more like weird water aerobics, and the water (it tasted like buttole.)
Aug 31, 2024 ¡ amoungus ChambersI had the best time of my life here, but that was in 1998 or so. Kids these days are such pussies.
Apr 26, 2025 ¡ Angry BeErrInI went there 2 years ago. All the councelors were rude besides one that let me play on his Nintendo 3ds. He let me play Mario Kart 7 on it. He probably doesn't remember me but I will forever remember him. They RECYCLE the water. It is disgusting. They barely let you talk and never let you enjoy your time. Also I find it ridiculous that during movies the boys and girls are separate. I wanted to sit next to my friends but couldn't. The only reason I give this two stars and not one is because of that one counselor. The kids are also really rude.
Jun 28, 2024 ¡ PlutoTHIS CAMP WAS DISGUSTING. They wouldnât even let you choose your activities, you were FORCED to do chosen ones. Also, after 8 PM, they wonât let you call home. Please, NEVER GO TO THIS CAMP. Just go to 4H, itâs WAY better.
Nov 20, 2024 ¡ Ruby Manzoboys had their own sidewalk to their cabins, and girls and had to walk up a giant hill. And the girls werenât aloud to go through the sidewalk to the boys cabin because quote on quote âlook in their cabinsâ. Also we were going to take showers with 2 people, but luckily one of the counselors said no to that. Thanks whoever u were. They had expired milk. and gave us SOGGY FRENCH TOAST. like ew. One time they made us walk in pouring rain and the counselors got to ride in golf carts. One of the counselors told us to shut up. and then they started eating chips and watching TikTok being super loud. Donât. Go.
