We have been at Ceders Lake RV park for over six months. It is so quiet here , the people are so friendly. The managers Kelly and John are amazing people. If we have a problem with anything, they are here to help. We've been here thru the last 3 hurricanes and they were so SPOT ON to be sure we were all safe and when we needed to evacuate for Hurricane Helene, they were ready to help all of us who hadn't already left to get our things ready and leave. They kept us up to date on what was going on in the park and when things were ready for us to move back. Another thing, John has been so helpful with some of the minor problems we've had and helped us get our deck put into place. Kelly is always there to help and answer any questions.. We plan to stay here a long time .

Revised, unfortunately after 2 years of seasonal stays and over $5000 spent they felt the need to pocket our $200 Electric deposit even though the electric was included and paid every month on the day it was due. This changed everything! During check in, I told her we would not be staying as long as the previous year, she said "no problem, just let me know ahead of time" however when I let her know, she said they were keeping our deposit. Then they rented our spot immediately, which is great for them because we "let them know ahead of time" point being they didn't lose any money. We mostly do our own thing and kept to ourselves but on one occasion I met some residents and some really nasty discussion about me ensued, it was rather rediculous almost to the point of amusing. The spot was great facing the woods but the bugs were so bad we had trouble enjoying the outdoors. They said they have it sprayed, which I never saw once in 2 years, so we sprayed our lot several times ourselves to keep them at bay. We left our spot a lot better than we found it by cleaning the entire area of dried dead foliage and debris, they stated "it had never been so clean". We've run in to several people who left there, who all had interesting stories about this place and the people running it. I'm am so happy now that we moved on to a nicer campground with very friendly people. In reply to your response... I can clear it up for you. Yes, the electrical deposit is clearly stated on the front page, we paid in full for every month. I was mislead when she told me that it would not be a problem just let her know ahead of time. That is deceptive and dishonest if you planned to keep the deposit regardless. Your deposit clearly says "Electrical deposit" you did not lose a cent on us. Even if it was actually for a loss of lot rent, we gave notice and you filled it immediately, no loss of money for you in that respect either. Yet you still felt the need to steal our money. We took the only site available and were told it was sprayed for bugs regularly. I would not have paid a cent more ($50) for the deposit or site as it's already pushing the limits of what it's worth. Your deception and theivery has not gone unnoticed in your reviews as well as the community.

Great, affordable spot if you are looking to get off the beaten path on the old Florida gulf coast. Homosassa is the real deal—a working fishing community on the river in a swampy area with lots of wildlife, including an abundance of biting no-see-ums. Very laid back and charming in its way, with lots of retirees to cozy up to at the local bar. We saw manatees at the local state park and gators at the sandwich shop in the village. Kelly & John work hard to keep this old park humming. Can be nice and quiet at times though the air boats make a good racket when they come down the river a few times a day (to be expected in this kind of community). Bring bug spray & a relaxed attitude, and enjoy the simple swamp life with friendly neighbors.

Stayed in rv park for 30 days, in our motorhome. The park was small and quiet, and was in a great location. Very nicely kept, and the managers, John and Kelly, were very nice and helpful. There were many great places to see and do in the area, with lots of good restaurants and bars close by. Hoping to go back again next year.
