Customer Reviews
Loved our stay and the turkeys walking through :-) The restrooms were clean, the site was level enough, not a lot of room between sites but everyone around us was quiet, so we had a great experience. We tried the phone-in reservation system but the wait was too long so we switched to the online system and it was quick and easy.
This is under new management and the maintenance guy is working really hard to change things for the better! So glad that I revisited from a decade ago.
The wife is super nice, understanding etc. We were under the impression that the husband was also nice as he gave us the opportunity to pay in a certain increment plan. As the wife has now stated, he just wanted money, he wasn't being nice. We let him know a full week in advance that we were coming. He told us the camper would be cleaned (because it was absolutely disgusting) and that the hookups would be done when we got there by the end of the week, 3 days before we were due to come. When my husband gets there, the camper is still in shambles. Its disgusting, hadn't been touched, the refrigerator had dead bugs in it. We went to the store and spent over $100 in cleaning supplies to do what he promised. Not only this, but NO hookups were done. None. I was at work and my husband had to go to work. About 5 days into our stay, the air basically quits working and we have to buy a fan. The next day, sewage backs up and we decide to just leave. My husband tells the wife and she feels bad for us, and is SO sweet. She gives us $200 of the $300 we paid back. She and my husband didn't know that he watches her on the cameras, and almost hits my car (I'm in the car) when he pulls in as fast as he can and runs in. He proceeds to tell his wife that he doesn't care how bad the place was and doesn't care if he didn't do anything he said he would that they don't do refunds. She gives my husband the money anyway, and tries to talk to him but clearly he isn't the type to respect his wife especially in a public area unfortunately. He tells my husband if we come back we will have extra tacked onto our rent because she decided to partially refund us. To the owner: please do better. Take it as a loss and do the things you promise and nobody will ask to leave. You have current tenants around us with similar complaints about your character. Grow to be better.
Our stay was great! The couple who own this place are great. Especially the lady, she just radiates warmth and is so kind!
So this was a particularly memorable camping trip for us. The camp ground is in the process of being renovated so the pool is closed for now, and half of the showers were out of service. It definitely wasn't busy. Most of the other campers are apparently very long term residents in RVs / campers that look like they've been there for quite some time, so the atmosphere is very low key, laid back, and generally friendly. The owner operators were extremely nice to us. Pet the dog, say hi to the resident pig, and enjoy the convenience to nearby Cosby State Park on the quiet side of the Smokies. You definitely won't forget this place. It's not the cleanest, or the most modern, but for the price, it was definitely worth the money.
