Daytona Bike Week Camping About
For motorcycle enthusiasts across Florida and beyond, the roar of engines and the camaraderie of fellow riders are synonymous with events like Daytona Bike Week and Biketoberfest. Finding the perfect place to stay during these iconic rallies is crucial, as it sets the tone for your entire experience. While traditional camping often evokes images of serene nature retreats, "Daytona Bike Week Camping" (also known as Whiskey Still Campground) is a unique destination tailored specifically for the vibrant energy of the motorcycle community. Located in Bunnell, Florida, this campground aims to be more than just a place to park your RV or pitch a tent; it's a central hub for those who live and breathe the biker lifestyle, promising an authentic and memorable rally experience right in the heart of the action.
Daytona Bike Week Camping (Whiskey Still Campground) prides itself on offering a specific kind of experience, one deeply rooted in the motorcycle rally culture. One enthusiastic visitor shared, "Had a great time with friends and new friends riding bikes and there was a lot there on bike I will be going back." This sentiment highlights the campground's appeal as a social hub where like-minded individuals can connect, share their passion for riding, and enjoy the festivities. It's positioned to provide an immersive experience for those attending the major motorcycle events in the Daytona area, acting as a gathering place where the spirit of the rally extends directly into your camping experience. While it caters to a specific niche, for those who seek to be fully enveloped in the atmosphere of Bike Week, this campground aims to provide the perfect setting to enjoy the camaraderie and excitement that defines these iconic Florida events.
Daytona Bike Week Camping (also known as Whiskey Still Campground) is strategically located at 74 Co Rd 202, Bunnell, FL 32110, USA. This placement is particularly advantageous for motorcycle enthusiasts, as it situates the campground between two iconic biker landmarks: Bruce Rossmeyer's Harley-Davidson and the historic White Eagle, which is considered the oldest biker bar in Central Florida. This central positioning means that campers are just a stone's throw away from significant rally attractions and key gathering points for the motorcycle community.
The campground's location just off US 1 further enhances its accessibility. US 1 is a major north-south highway that runs along Florida's east coast, providing straightforward routes to and from the Daytona Beach area, the epicenter of Bike Week activities. While it offers a "peaceful retreat" from the immediate hustle and bustle of downtown Daytona, its easy access to US 1 means that the vibrant events, vendors, and entertainment of Daytona Bike Week are still within a convenient riding distance. This balance of a dedicated rally atmosphere within the campground and quick access to the main events makes it a practical and desirable choice for those attending the major motorcycle rallies in the region.
While the provided negative review highlights significant concerns about the current state of amenities at Daytona Bike Week Camping, information from other sources and the general nature of campgrounds catering to specific events typically offer the following services. It is crucial for prospective visitors to verify the current status and quality of these services directly with the campground prior to booking.
- Campsites: The campground offers shaded, oak-covered campsites. While specific types (e.g., RV full hookup, primitive tent) are not detailed in the provided review, other similar event-focused campgrounds typically offer a range of options.
- Shower Facilities: The campground advertises "clean shower facilities with hot water." However, the negative review strongly contradicts this, describing the shower house as "disgusting" with "orange slime and sand" in the water, and insufficient water pressure.
- Bar: There is an on-site bar with "friendly bartenders that opens daily at 5:00 PM," offering a social gathering point.
- Wi-Fi: Wi-Fi is advertised. However, the negative review states it's a "home router that sits outside on a bar. Terrible reception."
- Security: While not explicitly detailed, the negative review mentions the owner being "more concerned about putting cameras all over," which implies some level of surveillance is in place.
- Pet-Friendly: It is common for campgrounds to be pet-friendly, though specific policies (leash rules, fees) would need to be confirmed.
Given the conflicting nature of the provided reviews, it is highly advisable to contact the campground directly and potentially seek more recent, varied feedback to get a comprehensive understanding of the current state of their services.
Daytona Bike Week Camping (Whiskey Still Campground) promotes itself with specific features and highlights designed to appeal to its target audience, primarily motorcycle rally attendees. It is important to note the conflicting nature of the provided reviews when assessing these highlights.
- Strategic Biker-Centric Location: A primary highlight is its location between Bruce Rossmeyer's Harley-Davidson and the historic White Eagle biker bar, positioning it as an ideal base for experiencing the Daytona motorcycle scene. It's described as "the out-of-the-way place in the middle of it all!"
- Shaded Campsites: The campground advertises "shaded oak-covered campsites," which are desirable in Florida's climate, offering comfort and privacy.
- On-Site Bar: The presence of an on-site bar that opens daily at 5:00 PM provides a convenient social hub for campers to gather and unwind after a day of riding.
- "Country Setting": While centrally located for biker events, the campground aims to provide a "peaceful retreat" and a "serene atmosphere," suggesting a country setting.
- Community Atmosphere: One positive review highlighted "great time with friends and new friends riding bikes," indicating a social environment where campers can connect with fellow enthusiasts.
- Proximity to Local Attractions: Beyond biker venues, the campground is a base for exploring nearby attractions like Florida Cracker Ranch.
However, it is critical to acknowledge the significant negative feedback. While the campground aims for these features, the review describes "NO amenities," "no lighting at night," "sites are all mud holes," and not being "wheelchair accessible as advertised." It also criticizes the "disgusting" shower house and "terrible" Wi-Fi. This stark contrast in experiences suggests potential inconsistencies or that the negative review reflects a more current or severe state of conditions compared to the intended or advertised features.
Based on the provided information, there are no specific "Promotions or Special Offers" detailed for Daytona Bike Week Camping (Whiskey Still Campground). Campgrounds catering to major events like Bike Week often have fixed pricing during peak periods, and any "special offers" might be tied to early bird bookings for the event, multi-day packages, or group rates, rather than traditional discounts.
Given the conflicting nature of the reviews regarding the actual amenities and conditions, any potential special offers would need to be weighed carefully against the reported state of the facilities. It is highly recommended that prospective campers contact the campground directly to inquire about their rates for specific dates, any available packages, or long-term stay options if applicable. It would also be a crucial opportunity to ask about the current condition of facilities mentioned in negative reviews to ensure expectations align with what is currently offered.

For locals in Florida, Daytona Bike Week Camping (Whiskey Still Campground) presents a unique consideration for those deeply embedded in the motorcycle rally scene. If your primary goal is to be fully immersed in the culture and camaraderie of events like Daytona Bike Week, and you prioritize proximity to key biker venues like Bruce Rossmeyer's Harley-Davidson and the White Eagle bar, then this campground offers a direct connection to that experience. The single positive review suggests that for some, the social atmosphere and the opportunity to share the passion for riding with "friends and new friends" are paramount, making the campground a suitable hub for such gatherings.
However, it is crucial for any local considering this campground to be fully aware of the significant concerns raised in the extensive negative review. The described issues with maintenance, flooding, Wi-Fi, shower facilities (including water quality and pressure), lack of lighting, and accessibility are serious and directly impact comfort and safety. For Floridians accustomed to well-maintained camping facilities, these points are critical. While its location is undeniably convenient for rally-goers, prospective campers must weigh this against the potential for a challenging stay as described by a recent visitor. It is highly recommended to contact the campground directly, inquire about specific conditions, and perhaps seek recent, varied feedback from other sources to make an informed decision about whether this campground aligns with your expectations for a comfortable and enjoyable stay.
Customer Reviews
Had a great time with friends and new friends riding bikes and there was a lot there on bike I will be going back.
HORRIBLE... WORST CAMPGROUND IN FLAGLER COUNTY AND BEYOND!! This place has NO amenities, they do not maintain their grounds and it floods every time it rains. Their wifi is a home router that sits outside on a bar. Terrible reception. Shower house is disgusting, and the water has orange slime and sand in it. With only 2 campers on the property, the water pressure was not even strong enough to take a shower in my own RV. If you inform the property Mgr or owners of an issue, they will evict you from their property. It seems that the Owner is more concerned about putting cameras all over than maintaining the property. Absolutely no lighting at night and sites are all mud holes. Definitely NOT wheelchair accessible as advertised. One of the worst experiences of my life. I give this place a NEGATIVE 5 STAR REVIEW.
Every year nice place with nice people
Such a great place , plenty of room for camping can bring rv or your tents.
Great place! Great people! Live band cold beer and good food! What more can you ask for when away from home. Was here for bike week and now biketoberfest. Definitely a great place to be.
