Established in 1981 and family-owned, Drew's Campground provides a traditional camping experience with essential amenities. It aims to be a convenient base for travelers eager to experience the popular attractions, beautiful beaches, and charming downtown of Holland, Michigan. While not a luxury resort, Drew's focuses on providing accessible sites with necessary hookups, catering to those who prioritize convenience and a no-frills approach to their outdoor adventures.

Drew's Campground is characterized by its long-standing presence in the Holland camping scene. It offers both tent and RV sites, aiming to accommodate a variety of campers. The campground's philosophy centers on providing a reliable place to stay, complete with utilities like water and electric hookups, along with basic recreational features such as a swimming pool and a playground. While some past reviews indicate that the campground has a dated appearance and may experience noise from both highway traffic and other campers, it prides itself on having grassy, well-maintained sites and generally friendly management. For those who prioritize affordability and direct access to their campsite over extensive modern amenities or absolute seclusion, Drew's Campground presents a pragmatic choice for their Michigan camping getaway. It's a place that serves as a launchpad for exploring the wider Holland area, offering a functional and accessible option for various types of travelers.

Location and Accessibility

Drew's Campground is located at 12850 Ransom St, Holland, MI 49424, USA. This address places it approximately 3.5 to 4.5 miles north of downtown Holland, making it a reasonably accessible base for exploring the city and its surroundings. Its proximity to US-31, a major highway in West Michigan, contributes to its ease of access for travelers coming from various parts of the state.

While some past reviews mention that the campground is "not real close to Holland," its location on Ransom Street does offer relatively quick connections to the city's main attractions. Visitors can easily reach the iconic Holland State Park, known for its sugar sand beaches and the "Big Red" lighthouse, typically within a 10-15 minute drive. Other popular destinations like Nelis' Dutch Village, Windmill Island Gardens, and the bustling Downtown Holland with its unique shops and dining options are also readily accessible. The close proximity to US-31 means that while there might be some traffic noise, especially from the four-lane highway, it also facilitates convenient travel to and from the campground. This balance of being close enough to attractions while still offering a dedicated camping spot makes Drew's Campground a practical choice for Michigan locals looking for a convenient jump-off point for their West Michigan adventures.

This campground is mostly long-term trailers. The elderly woman who runs it is very nice, but the campground is way substandard. The location was OK but not real close to Holland. On Friday and Saturday night a bunch of long-term residents stay outside and drink and are loud until one in the morning or later.

Very dated place. Old junk campers setting around. Shower house leaves much to be desired. Four lane highway is 200 feet from the campground with constant traffic noise. But I will say that the sites are nice enough, with plenty of grass.

We have come here a couple times. It’s an older place but peaceful. They sold firewood, and our neighbors were always great to us. Showers weren’t great, but nothing worse than the state park campgrounds.

I was not happy with the size of the campsites. My kids said the bathrooms were creepy. Pool looks like it hasn't been used in years. The website represents this place way better than reality. It took 4hrs to get fire rings (which were cut 55gal drums). The playground equipment was run down as well. We put this place on our do not return campground list.

My husband and I came here to stay while my husband is working in Holland Mi. We have traveled all over the US and have stayed in a lot of campgrounds over the past 20 yrs. This is the worst experience we have had staying at a campground. Paid for entire month and here is what happened the 17 days we were there...we left before month was up due to NO Electric No sewage, NO water pressure in Shower Rooms Started the first day we were there. Two fires and one we literrally watched a lady burned to death in her camper at about 2:30 AM . After that we left. The only thing positive I can say is this campground is close to everything. If you should ever venture to stay here be sure to not get lot 5 because your view will be 2 run down ugly campers and an old truck.
