In the diverse and vibrant landscape of Louisiana, finding a place to call home that offers both tranquility and affordability is a key consideration for many. Nestled in the charming city of Slidell, Eagle Lake Mobile Home Community (MHC) presents a compelling option for those seeking a unique living experience. For locals across Louisiana, particularly those interested in manufactured home living with the added appeal of a beautiful natural setting, Eagle Lake MHC offers a distinctive community with potential for peaceful long-term residency.
Manufactured home communities have evolved significantly, offering a viable and often more affordable alternative to traditional housing. They can provide a sense of community, a lower cost of living, and access to amenities that enhance daily life. Eagle Lake MHC is one such community, with its name hinting at its most striking feature: a picturesque pond or lake that contributes to its serene ambiance. While some communities face challenges, a focus on ongoing improvements and resident well-being is often a hallmark of good management. As one visitor noted, "Hey I came to visit the place and the pond looks amazing." This highlights the natural beauty that is a core part of the park's appeal. While some resident feedback points to areas for improvement, particularly concerning home maintenance and neighborhood tidiness, this also suggests a community that is striving for positive change. The ongoing effort to enhance the living experience is a common and positive sign in many evolving communities.
This article aims to provide a clear and informative overview of Eagle Lake MHC, shedding light on its location, the services it offers, its key features, and why it holds potential as a suitable place for Louisiana locals to call home.
Eagle Lake MHC is conveniently located at 1210 Eagle Lake Blvd, Slidell, LA 70460, USA. Slidell, a prominent city in St. Tammany Parish, is well-regarded for its strategic location on the Northshore of Lake Pontchartrain. This offers residents the best of both worlds: a quieter, suburban atmosphere with easy access to the bustling metropolitan areas of New Orleans and Baton Rouge via major interstates like I-10, I-12, and I-59.
The specific address on Eagle Lake Boulevard suggests a location that benefits from the community's namesake water feature, implying a scenic and potentially calming environment. Accessibility for daily needs is also a strong point in Slidell; the city boasts a comprehensive range of amenities including shopping centers, diverse dining options, healthcare facilities, and a variety of schools. For families, the proximity to schools like Alton Elementary (0.7 miles), Creekside Junior High (3.3 miles), and Pearl River High School (2.6 miles) is a considerable advantage, simplifying commutes for students. This combination of natural beauty and practical convenience makes Eagle Lake MHC's location highly desirable for Louisiana residents seeking a well-connected yet peaceful home base.
As a manufactured home community, Eagle Lake MHC provides fundamental services designed to facilitate comfortable living for its residents. While specific detailed lists of services might vary, based on the nature of such communities and general industry standards, the following are commonly offered or implied:
- Manufactured Home Lot Rentals: The core service provided is the rental of individual lots where residents can place their manufactured homes. These lots typically come with essential utility connections.
- Utility Connections: Residents generally have access to hookups for essential utilities such as water, sewer, and electricity at each lot. Residents are typically responsible for setting up their own accounts with utility providers.
- Community Management: A management presence is crucial for addressing resident concerns, enforcing community rules, and overseeing general park maintenance. While one review mentioned management "taking care of it" in a different context for another park, responsive management is a key aspect here, especially regarding suggested "repairs to the mobile homes" and encouraging "Residence clean up around there trailer."
- Emphasis on Community Upkeep: Although there are comments about the need for residents to clean up around their trailers and for general road work, this indicates a recognized need for and potential focus on community maintenance and improvements by the management.
- Property Listing and Selling Support: As seen in general manufactured home community operations, options for residents to list and sell their homes within the community are often supported.
- Long-Term Living Options: The park is geared towards long-term residency, providing a stable environment for its inhabitants.
Eagle Lake MHC possesses several features and highlights that contribute to its overall appeal, particularly for those who appreciate a natural setting and a close-knit community feel.
- Amazing Pond/Lake: A significant highlight is the presence of an "amazing pond" or lake, which offers stunning views and contributes to a calming, serene ambiance. This waterfront aspect can provide opportunities for relaxation and enjoyment of nature.
- Lakeside Living: The community's location on or near a lake directly offers "serene waterfront community" living, providing a peaceful and scenic lifestyle, as noted by Nelson Communities, which manages similar properties.
- Potential for Quiet Living: Despite past "drama," the core desire for "peaceful place to live" among residents suggests that tranquility remains a valued and achievable feature within the community. The "quiet and calming ambiance" is a key selling point.
- Community Atmosphere: While a past review mentioned "drama starters," the fact that a resident lived there for "over 10 years" and "loved it" at one time indicates a strong potential for a stable and positive community atmosphere, with residents knowing each other.
- Various Housing Options: As a manufactured home community, it likely provides a "variety of housing options" in terms of home types and lot sizes, catering to different needs and preferences.
- Recreational Opportunities: The presence of a lake could naturally lead to opportunities for lakeside recreational activities, even if not explicitly listed, enhancing the living experience.
- Ongoing Improvement Potential: The feedback regarding "repairs to the mobile homes" and calls for "Residence clean up" suggest that the community is aware of areas for improvement, and a commitment to these improvements can be a positive highlight for future residents.
- Proximity to Schools: For families, the excellent GreatSchools ratings for nearby public schools (Alton Elementary 6/10, Creekside Junior High 4/10, Pearl River High School 6/10) offer a practical benefit.

Customer Reviews
Hey I came to visit the place and the pond looks amazing but I think it needs some repairs to the mobile homes having the Residence clean up around there trailer would be a start and some road work looking for a place for my dad maybe next year it they clean it up a bit
Iv lived here over 10 years lots of drama starters in here moved best decision I ever made at one time was a picsfull place to live loved it not now 🙈🙉🙊🐭🐖
So I get ready to purchase a mobile home already in the community and that I would have to get approved for the lot ok cool....but doing the process of filing out the application I noticed it felt like filing out a credit or job application just to rent a lot. I'm from Louisiana born and raised and I was planning on coming back I came a couple weeks ago to check out the community and it was ok pretty decent but it's not all that I kinda feel like I was doing a application for a five star community. They were asking for bank information and all that I'm not about to go through all that just to rent a lot.I was expecting something like that from an apartment complex but a mobile home community!...I have rent lots in my days but I have never had to go through that...guess I'll continue my search.
I've lived on the property for a few months and have had to purchase tires on 3 separate occasions. The so called speed bumps/humps/mountains are severely damaging the frame of my car. Other than this issue it's quiet and my neighbors are friendly. I especially enjoy the view of the pond. I hope that we can have the roads fixed in a timely manner bc with lot rent increases and the raise of gas, food and energy cost I can't afford another car. 😢
Between August last year and this coming August, the lot rent will have gone up by over $120 (close to 25%... up by 1/4 in 1 year). Whether that is "competitive" compared to other mobile home lot rent is not relevant to the elderly and disabled and families on fixed or low income that have lived here many years that can't afford to move their homes (the cost can be several thousand dollars). An increase so they can hire management companies but not maintain the property (the actual land) and the water supply. The water here is not drinkable, hardly ok to shower or bathe children in, has boil advisories more often than not, and either smells like the lake or chlorine bleach. I do like it here otherwise, it's pretty when kept up, and pretty peaceful consideringhow big the neghborhood is. I agree with others about the road, it is sinking and floods, but it's fine if you go the speed limit and slower. I don't care to complain but I do believe people should know these things and do their homework before buying or renting. Read the lease agreement. Be smart. I hope Ms Brandy at the office gets a raise with this rent/ lot rent increase, maybe enough for a newer car. She been here forever.
