This park is designed to cater to a diverse range of RVers, from those seeking a convenient base for temporary work in the area to individuals and families looking for a longer-term stay. With 229 sites, the park can accommodate various RV sizes, including big rigs, and offers essential amenities for comfortable living.
The Gates at McNeese RV Park aims to provide a functional and accessible environment for its residents. While some past reviews indicate concerns about property maintenance and specific aspects of management and policies, it's important to consider that the Lake Charles area, including this property, experienced significant impacts from Hurricanes Laura and Delta. This may have presented ongoing challenges for property upkeep and recovery. Despite these challenges, the park offers full hookups, Wi-Fi, and laundry facilities, addressing core needs for RV living. It is frequently highlighted as a practical choice for "temporary workers out for 12 hours a day," suggesting its utility as a convenient and accessible base for those on assignment in the region's industrial sector. The park is also known for being pet-friendly, further enhancing its appeal to many RV owners.

The park's location on East McNeese Street is a significant advantage. From I-10, travelers can take Exit 31B to US 90, then to McNeese St/LA 3186. From I-210, Exit 8 (LA14) leads to McNeese St/LA 3186. This easy highway access ensures that residents can quickly commute to various parts of Lake Charles, Sulphur, and beyond, whether for work or leisure.
Furthermore, the park's central location means that a wide array of amenities and attractions are within a short drive. It's "less than 5 miles to local Casinos" like Golden Nugget and L'Auberge Casino Resort, offering entertainment and dining options. The park is also conveniently located for those working at "Sasol plants" and other industrial facilities in the area, positioning it as a practical housing solution for temporary workers. Daily necessities are easily met with "easy access to all local restaurants, shopping," and medical facilities. For outdoor enthusiasts, it's "10 minutes from Calcasieu Point Landing," which is a gateway to "some of the best inland saltwater fishing in Southwest Louisiana." This blend of industrial, recreational, and everyday conveniences makes Gates at McNeese RV Park a highly accessible and practical base for anyone staying in the Lake Charles region.

Too expensive. They charge a $50 deposit that goes towards nothing. $475+tax and the deposit=$597 a month for a poorly maintained property. Yes, the Hurricanes, Laura and Delta had gone through. But, there was trash everywhere and not quality sites, too close together and just gravel. It's a good place to stay if you're a temporary worker out for 12 hours a day. Not very friendly either.
Oct 26, 2020 · Lezlea HudsonA disabled resident at Gates who was mauled by the dog of another Gates resident was just evicted a couple of weeks later, in spite of the fact that less than half of the RV spots were being rented at the time. Zero compassion is bad business.
Feb 12, 2025 · Angela BulhofNot to bad of a place. But I do have a few complaints. The grass is poorly maintained and the RV spots are partially gravel the rest is mud. Great location, but park need updated. When it rains it turns into a mud hole.
Dec 21, 2021 · Jarrod BurnsEverything is fine until you turn the corner! Ever seen a trashy trailer park then feast your eyes on this one! Grass a mile high, nothing but rock, dirt and mud! The whole field looks sketchy! No way would I put my McNeese student in this filth! Doesn't look safe none whatsoever! Try better!
Jul 30, 2021 · HollyIf you're looking for an RV park that's close to whatever you might need , then this is it. Walmart Lowes,Homedepot, Academy Sports,Restaurants etc .Just a couple miles away. This park is quiet for the most part. Situated almost hidden from one of the main streets. Restrooms and showers are clean as well as the park.
