Customer experiences, while varied, highlight key aspects of the park. On the positive side, many appreciate the "amazingly nice, friendly, helpful people manage this RV Park." This speaks to a management team that is attentive and supportive, especially during unexpected situations. Customer Reviews
I was quoted by Nathan $490 a month and told I would get the last shady spot available. It's only partially shaded and was told rent was $475 by a few residents. When my husband went to pay our second month we were charged $500. It's a dusty RV park but quiet and that adds a star. Caution when plugging in your RV we had to let the manager Jay know that something was wrong because the box started to spark. He was able to Frankenstein parts off another box to fix it. Thankfully this is only a temporary place for us. Updated 09/16/2022 I've called and texted requesting a refund due to leaving early and I still haven't received anything since 08/21/2022 when the manager told me the amount I am due but never sent the money. 09/18/2022 Nathan Casey sent me a text advising that due to this "bad review" I will have to wait to be refunded the $161 owed to me. He wants this post removed BUT I will not remove it until I am sent my money.
Amazingly nice, friendly, helpful people manage this RV Park. We were on our way back to Oklahoma from the Gulf Coast going north on 281. Around Stephenville about dark, we experienced a bit of an emergency with the camper. Getaway had posted on their website that they are open 24 hours. We were conveniently able to pull off the highway, hook up, get a good night's sleep and look the situation over the next morning. We woke up to a beautiful park, lots of trees, and very peaceful. We were able to take care of the situation and get back on the road. I'm so grateful for a nice, clean facility right off the highway and good-hearted people who manage it.
Park manager, Jay is super. He knows the area really well, he goes above and beyond to be available and assist in any way that makes your stay comfortable and easy. He's always working on the facilities; keeping the gravel drives smooth, grass mowed, fences safe, hook ups user friendly and garbage in it's place. There are pull thrus for those not comfortable backing in and trees! Seems like shade at the parks are the unicorns in this area. Short or long stay, i don't think you'll be disappointed in The Getaway.
This little park is an Oasis right outside the city. The spots are well shaded, the owner is friendly and the chickens rule the roost. I love the country, campground feel of the rv park. I appreciate the cleanliness and how well the grounds are maintained. Amenities are a bit lacking as there is no washroom/shower, there is however a laundry facility. It's a peaceful pleasant place to wake up to.
The Getaway is a great rv park, I have lived here about a year. David the owner is a great guy and is very good a making sure everyone is happy. The rv spots are shaded under groups of trees and it is nice and spaced out. The property is nice and well kept. It is dog friendly as well. I really enjoy staying here and recommend it to anyone.
