Location and Accessibility

Going West Mobile Home Community is conveniently located at 900 Leblanc Rd, Duson, LA 70529, USA. Duson is a charming town in Lafayette Parish, nestled within the broader Lafayette metropolitan area. This strategic location offers residents the best of both worlds: the peace and quiet of a smaller community combined with easy access to the extensive amenities and opportunities available in nearby Lafayette, which is just a short drive away.

The park's address on Leblanc Road provides straightforward access from major roadways, including Interstate 10 and US Highway 90. This makes commuting for work or leisure incredibly convenient, whether you're heading into Lafayette for shopping, dining, or cultural events, or traveling further afield for family visits or other excursions across Louisiana.

Duson itself offers a local flavor, with its own unique history and community events. Residents of Going West Mobile Home Community can enjoy the tranquility of their neighborhood while still being close to Duson's local businesses and services. The combination of quiet residential living with easy access to urban centers and cultural experiences makes this a practical and appealing location for many Louisianans.

Services Offered

As a mobile home community primarily designed for long-term residency, Going West Mobile Home Community provides the essential infrastructure and services necessary for comfortable living. The focus is on facilitating a stable home environment for its residents.

  • Lot Rentals: The community offers spaces (lots) for individuals to place their own mobile homes. This is the primary service provided.
  • Utility Connections: Each lot is equipped with the necessary hookups for essential utilities, including water, electricity, and sewer services. Residents are typically responsible for setting up and paying for their individual utility accounts, ensuring direct control over their usage.
  • Trash Disposal: While a review mentions issues with the dumpster area, the provision of trash disposal services is implied for residents. Property management is likely responsible for arranging waste collection.
  • On-site Management/Maintenance: Mobile home communities usually have a management team responsible for the overall upkeep of common areas and addressing resident concerns. The review referencing management's role in cleanliness suggests an active, though perhaps challenged, management presence.

Prospective residents interested in placing their mobile home or seeking rental options should directly contact Going West Mobile Home Community to confirm all available services, specific utility arrangements, and any community guidelines or regulations.

Features / Highlights

Going West Mobile Home Community offers several features that contribute to its appeal as a residential option in Duson, Louisiana, despite some areas for improvement as noted in reviews.

  • Quiet Living Environment: A significant highlight mentioned by residents is the park's quiet atmosphere, making it a desirable place for those who value peace and tranquility in their daily lives.
  • Well-Kept & Clean (Generally): One review explicitly states the park is "quiet and well kept, very clean." This indicates a general commitment to maintaining a presentable living environment for residents.
  • Affordable Housing Option: Mobile home communities are often a more economical housing solution compared to traditional stick-built homes, offering a path to homeownership or stable long-term rental at a lower cost.
  • Long-Term Residency Possible: With residents noting stays of "5 years and counting," the community clearly supports and is suitable for long-term living, fostering stability.
  • Sense of Community: While one review mentions "a few people in the neighborhood that like to run tell," this indirectly suggests a close-knit community where residents are aware of each other, for better or worse. Many mobile home parks foster a strong sense of neighborly connection.
  • Convenient Location: Its position in Duson offers easy access to major highways (I-10, US 90) and the larger city of Lafayette, combining rural peace with urban convenience.

It is important to acknowledge the feedback about the dumpster area and the desire for more cameras to maintain cleanliness. This suggests that while the park is generally well-kept, certain common areas may experience maintenance challenges that residents would like to see addressed.

Promotions or Special Offers

Mobile home communities like Going West Mobile Home Community typically do not advertise short-term "promotions" in the same way retail businesses or vacation RV parks might. Their primary "offer" is the provision of affordable and stable long-term housing. The competitive pricing of mobile home lot rentals compared to traditional housing options in the Lafayette area serves as a continuous value proposition.

For specific pricing information, including monthly lot rent, any associated fees, and terms for bringing in a mobile home or available units for rent within the community, prospective residents should contact the park management directly. It's advisable to inquire about all costs upfront to get a full understanding of the financial commitment.

Any special arrangements, such as first-month discounts for new residents or incentives for long-term leases, would need to be discussed directly with the management team, as such details are not typically available in general public information.

Lived here for 5 years and counting. Simple camera additions would help keep the dumpster area clean but that don't happen so the dumpster area stinks. Got a few people in the neighborhood that like to run tell every time you do something wrong.
