Promotions or Special Offers

As a large, well-established county campground, Goose Island Campground, managed by La Crosse County Facilities Department, typically has a structured pricing system rather than frequent, publicly advertised "promotions" in the commercial sense. However, they do offer competitive rates and a straightforward reservation process that can be considered a "deal" in terms of value.

Based on common practices for public campgrounds and the available information:

  • Value for Money: The extensive amenities, clean facilities, and prime natural location provide significant value for the camping fees charged, making it an attractive option for budget-conscious but quality-seeking campers.
  • Reservations Available: The ability to reserve sites online or by phone, with credit cards accepted, is a convenience that helps campers plan their trips without last-minute stress, especially for popular seasons. A reservation fee and deposit are required.
  • Seasonal Rates: While not a "promotion," understanding the camping season (April 15th to October 30th) allows campers to plan for specific times that might align with lower demand and potentially lower rates, if applicable.
  • Firewood Value: A reviewer specifically noted that the "wood was a great value," indicating that basic necessities within the campground are priced fairly.

For the most current information regarding camping fees, specific site availability, and any potential group rates or off-season discounts that may apply, it is always recommended to directly contact Goose Island Campground. Their official website or a direct phone call would be the best source for up-to-date pricing and reservation details.

Haven't camped here in 10 years and then 10 before that. It is more amazing now than ever. Mind you a big flood had ravaged the grounds earlier in the year. This place was still great. The views, the sunsets, an d moon views are next level. Although our "room" was covered in fresh cut grass, it was very spacious and allowed for our tent, screen tent, and a ton of area for the kids to play. The store and office area was staffed by friendly people, and the wood was a great value as well. Would definitely recommend and will be back.

Quiet camp site with enough space in between units depending where you choose. We were by water with electric not water hookup. Those sites had some space in between which was nice. Bathrooms are very clean for camp site which was appreciated. Fire wood for sale and general store. Enjoyed walking and running the paved areas with and without dog. They are strict about putting up a tent outside your camper.

Lovely area, with lots to do if you are an outdoors person i.e. fishing, hiking, sightseeing the Mississippi on WI, IA, MN sides. Biggest complaint, which limited my enjoyment of the park, is those without their dogs on leashes. People assume: everyone enjoys dogs, all dogs get along, kids are safe around all dogs. Secondly, it is a rule for the campground, yet it doesn't apply to them. I think they should be kicked out, no refund end of story. Then people will wake up and follow the rules. We stayed here 7 nights and saw at least 8 dogs loose.

A fantastic campground on the Mississippi River, a sportsmen's paradise. It has a playground, beach, firewood and a general store. The campsites are spacious and most are not right on top of each other. Been there many times and we'll definitely be back!

Yet another camping facility that doesn’t refund you when you cancel. They keep your money for no reason.
