Hidden Marina & Campground stands as a unique destination in Georgetown, South Carolina, offering a dual experience for those who love both land and water. Primarily designed to accommodate RVs, it also boasts a fully functional marina, making it a compelling choice for campers who wish to bring their boats along. The name "Hidden" aptly describes its serene and tucked-away nature, promising a quiet and peaceful environment away from the usual hustle and bustle.
This campground caters to both transient visitors looking for shorter stays and seasonal campers who prefer to make it a regular retreat. The ongoing addition of new RV and cabin sites indicates a commitment to expansion and enhancing the guest experience. It's a place where the sounds of nature, rather than traffic, define the atmosphere, offering a rarity for campgrounds in its lack of airplane or significant road noise. Hidden Marina & Campground is peacefully situated at 894 Trout St, Georgetown, SC 29440, USA. This location is a significant highlight, offering a serene escape while maintaining excellent proximity to the historic and charming city of Georgetown.
Georgetown, known for its rich history, vibrant waterfront, and Southern charm, is just about 10 minutes away from the campground. This convenient distance means campers have easy access to the town's amenities without feeling overwhelmed by urban activity. The center of Georgetown boasts ample and free parking, allowing visitors to leisurely explore its "surprisingly busy" downtown. A delightful boardwalk stretches along the river, dotted with boat slips and restaurants, perfect for a stroll or enjoying a meal with a view. The traffic getting into town is noted as light, a further advantage, especially with recent industrial closures potentially easing rush hour congestion.
Accessibility to the campground itself involves navigating a "3/4-mile-long single lane compacted road base dirt road." While this road requires a slow pace and careful navigation if meeting oncoming vehicles (especially RVs), it contributes to the "hidden" and quiet nature of the campground, separating it from main thoroughfares. A gate with a push-button code at the entrance provides an added layer of security and privacy. Beyond Georgetown, the campground offers strategic access to other popular South Carolina destinations: Pawleys Island is approximately 30 minutes away, Myrtle Beach an hour, and Charleston about 1.5 hours, making it a convenient hub for exploring the wider coastal region. This blend of secluded tranquility and regional accessibility makes the location particularly appealing for South Carolinians seeking diverse experiences.
Hidden Marina & Campground provides a robust set of services designed to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable stay for RVers and boaters alike. These offerings highlight a commitment to providing essential amenities for both short-term and seasonal guests:
- Full Hookups (FHU): RV sites are equipped with electricity, water, and sewer connections. While the electrical outlets were noted as 50-Amp only on one site (without 30A or 15A receptacles or circuit breakers), the power supply was generally found to be good.
- Good Water Quality: The water supply is good, though some may notice it's treated, possibly for hardness, leading to soap not rinsing off as easily. Water pressure can dip when multiple faucets are in use.
- Laundry Facilities: On-site laundry facilities are available for guest convenience, providing an essential service for extended stays.
- Swimming Pool Area: A nice pool area is present, complemented by a covered picnic area, offering a relaxing spot for guests during warmer months.
- Marina Docks: The campground features docks in good condition, accessible via a new bridge, facilitating easy boat mooring.
- Boat Launch Ramp: A boat launch ramp is available, allowing campers to easily put their boats into the water. It's advisable to check with the campground first for specific usage guidelines.
- Secure Access: The campground entrance is secured by a gate with a push-button code, enhancing privacy and safety for residents.
- Excellent Cell Service: Despite its somewhat secluded location, the campground boasts "very good cell service," ensuring guests can stay connected.
- Quiet Environment: A consistent highlight is the exceptionally quiet atmosphere, with no significant traffic noise, infrequent distant train noise, and a notable absence of airplane noise – a rare find for many campgrounds.
It is important to note that while the campground offers excellent cell service, Wi-Fi is not available, and propane filling services are not provided on-site.
Hidden Marina & Campground stands out with several key features that contribute to its appeal for campers and boaters in South Carolina:

- Exceptional Tranquility: The campground offers a remarkably quiet and peaceful environment. Reviews emphasize the absence of traffic noise, infrequent distant train sounds, and a rare lack of airplane noise, providing a truly serene escape. This is a significant draw for campers seeking relaxation and a break from urban sounds.
- Seasonal and Transient Sites: The park accommodates both short-term visitors and long-term seasonal residents, fostering a diverse community while maintaining availability for various travel plans. The ongoing addition of new sites indicates growth and improvement.
- Convenient Proximity to Historic Georgetown: Located just 10 minutes from downtown Georgetown, campers can easily explore the city's charming historic district, waterfront boardwalk, restaurants, and shops, enjoying urban amenities without sacrificing the campground's peaceful setting.
- Essential Amenities for Comfortable Stays: Full hookups (electricity, water, sewer) are available at sites, along with on-site laundry facilities and a nice pool area with a covered picnic space (seasonal use). These amenities enhance the comfort and convenience of both short and extended stays.

- Secure and Private Setting: A gated entrance with a push-button code adds a layer of security and privacy, ensuring a more secluded and safe environment for campers.
While some internal roads are dirt and not perfectly level, and water pressure can fluctuate, these aspects are often part of a more rustic, nature-focused camping experience and are generally outweighed by the strong positives like the waterfront access and peaceful atmosphere.

Customer Reviews
We stayed for a month in February 2025: There is no campground map to confirm this, but there are likely about 60 total sites with maybe about 20 designated for transients. The rest are all seasonal. However, they were adding RV and cabin sites while we were there. We were placed in Site #9 "Down Front". There are (6) back-in sites in this row just behind the cabins. The sites are compacted road base, not very level but okay. There were some big trees all around us, but it was not affecting too us much. We had a nice but limited view of the river in between the cabins. The FHU's were good, and the power was fine. We had a 50Amp plug only, no circuit breaker & no 30A or 15A receptacles. The water was good, but the pressure dipped when opening a faucet. I also noticed that when showering, the soap doesn't rinse off easily. It seems that the water has been treated likely for hard water. There are laundry facilities on-site. I didn't use it. It has a nice pool area and a covered picnic area at the pool. Again, it was February, so we didn't use this facility. The campground is surprisingly large and full too. The access road is about 3/4-mile-long single lane compacted road base dirt road. It's okay. You just need to go slow. And if another car is coming that other way, both cars must move to the edge of the crowned road to pass. Hopefully, two RVs don't meet up! There is a gate with a push-button code at the entrance to the campground. At the end of the 3/4-mile long dirt road. The marina docks are in pretty good shape, with a new bridge to the docks. And there is a boat launch ramp if you bring your boat. Check with the campground first. The center of Georgetown is only about 10 minutes away. Good parking and free too. The town was surprisingly busy. A nice boardwalk on the river with boat slips and restaurants along the way. And the traffic is light getting there. International Paper and Liberty Steel, which are on the way to town, have both recently shut down, likely easing the traffic during rush hour. No propane filling at the campground, no Wi-Fi either, but very good cell service. The location is very quiet and peaceful. At least while we were here in February. No traffic noise, slight distance in-frequent train noise, and no airplane noise! A rarity at campgrounds. Pawley Island is only about 30 minutes away. Myrtle Beach is an hour away, and Charleston is about 1 1/2 hours away. I would stay again.
We had a great time. Clean campground and a wonderful staff. Camped and kept our boat at the marina.
*DO NOT STAY HERE*If I could rate this place zero stars I would. Absolutely the worst experience in dealing with a campground I have ever had. We travel for work and stayed here for the longest 9 months of my life due to no other options available in the area. The bathrooms and laundry room are disgusting. The road in is in terrible shape. But I really want to highlight how truly horrible the management is. The office manager is the rudest person I have ever had the displeasure of meeting. They treat their customers like they are beneath them. They allow the children related to them to bully other children and drive golf carts way too fast even though the rules state that no one under the age of 16 is allowed. Basically the rules don’t apply if you are related to them or know them. If you enjoy being treated like you are an inconvenience, being screamed at for using the laundry room, having rocks thrown at your children and overall hostility then stay here! If not I would stay FAR away! These people have no respect for their business or people
Horrible! After giving notification of lay off and departure I requested my $980.00 to be prorated for the 4 days I stayed. One lady who answered phone said no issues and a month and half later FINALLY Christy answered after me calling and texting and sending emails without any response. Christy said I would not get prorated and that they was selling the campground! Horrible experience!! Thinking of filing lein before it’s sold in couple weeks because this is WRONG!!!!! HORRIBLE. HORRIBLE.
This place is quite and clean. The sunsets were amazing. The staff is friendly and helpful! The salt water pool was one of our favorite spots, not to mention the docks for fishing and watching the sunset. There are 4 bald eagles that live near there. We would definitely go back. It is off the beaten path, but very close to stores.
