Hillside Campgrounds has established itself as a beloved and unique destination within the Pennsylvania camping landscape, particularly for the all-male community. For over four decades, this private, membership-only, clothing-optional retreat has provided a welcoming, safe, and fun environment for men 21 and over. Nestled in the quiet, naturally beautiful Endless Mountain region of Northeastern Pennsylvania, Hillside spans over 235 secluded acres, offering a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life.
More than just a place to pitch a tent, Hillside Campgrounds is a thriving community. It operates seasonally, typically opening its gates from the first Friday in May through the end of September. The mission is simple: to create a space where guests can shed stress, relax, connect, and be completely themselves in an attitude-free environment. Whether you are looking for a secluded spot for quiet reflection or a site in the middle of all the action and camaraderie, Hillside offers a diverse array of accommodations and activities to suit every style of getaway.
The atmosphere is consistently praised by local visitors for its vibrant energy, friendly staff, and the super welcoming nature of the community itself. Customers frequently highlight the excellent planned parties, events, and theme weekends that ensure there is always something engaging to participate in, from the nightly bonfire to lively after-hours events.
The unique blend of stunning natural surroundings—including a serene creek and a great network of hiking trails—with thoughtfully designed social amenities like a café and a dance bar, positions Hillside Campgrounds as a premier destination for a memorable camping and social experience in the Commonwealth.
Located in the beautiful Endless Mountains region, Hillside Campgrounds offers a conveniently accessible, yet wonderfully secluded, location in Northeastern Pennsylvania. The official address is 948 Creek Rd, New Milford, PA 18834, USA. This positioning places the campground roughly 30 minutes south of the New York State line, making it a viable and appealing option for visitors from both Pennsylvania and the surrounding states looking for an easy drive to an immersive getaway.
For local users and those traveling via major highways, the most common and reliable route involves finding the best way to Pennsylvania State Route 81 and taking Exit 219 (Gibson). Detailed directions are provided by the campground to navigate the final local roads, ensuring a smooth arrival despite the secluded nature of the property. Visitors are often advised to use specific GPS coordinates (41.819209, -75.654729) or to carefully follow directions from the Route 81 exit, as standalone GPS units can sometimes be inaccurate in this rural area. The property is designed to be an easily reachable ‘home away from home’ for the all-male community in the Pennsylvania region and beyond.
The staff at Hillside Campgrounds are known for being experienced and accommodating, assisting guests with everything from site selection to planning their weekend activities. The focus is on providing a seamless, enjoyable, and safe experience for all members.

I love this place! Hillside Campground is absolutely incredible, and it has something for everyone. The grounds are beautiful, with a serene creek and a great network of hiking trails. There’s always something fun happening, from the nightly bonfire to lively events in the evenings. The cafe and dance bar are fantastic, and they even have bingo and amazing drag shows. The heated pool is a huge plus, and it's clear that the owners put a lot of thought into creating a fun and welcoming atmosphere. I highly recommend this campground and can't wait to go back.
Aug 29, 2025 · Michael VitaleWe've been to and drive by a couple other campgrounds on our 3 hour drive north to Hillside. The place has a great staff and everyone is SUPER friendly. The community within will make everyone feel welcome. The planned parties, events and theme weekends assure there's always sometime to do. And then, there are the after hour parties that keep going and giving. Fantastic. We love it and can't wait to return.
Aug 12, 2025 · Daniel HeinlinThis was my third time at Hillside in the last month. The facilities are impeccable, and the staff members are very friendly and accommodating. I've been going during the work week, and it's been very laid-back and quiet. I hope to try a weekend soon when it might be more upbeat. I'm a tent camper. One piece of advice to newcomers. Call ahead to discuss site options. I've found my favorites, sites 107 and 109, but there are advantages and disadvantages to each site. As I said in my last review. I've never camped anywhere with such clean shower rooms. This is a big plus for me. I will definitely be back again before this season ends, and I'm really looking forward to next year. Thanks so much to all of the Hillside community.
Aug 13, 2025 · Mark DrenningI always like Hillside but lately I have two grips about it. Never dealt with a restaurant with attitude you asked to have something changed in your food and all you get is a bunch of grief. The other thing is the DJ everybody says even the perm say he’s lousy. The smoke machine smells like a dead animal why it doesn’t get fixed. I don’t know but everything else the staff is very friendly. Everybody else is friendly. There’s a few perms with still have attitude, but that always is the way But overall I wish they would fix with the highfalutin restaurant with attitude. You’re at Hillside. You’re not dining at some five star restaurant and I’ve been to five star restaurants where they’ll change stuff on the menu for the customer.
Sep 08, 2025 · Terry NeubaumI have been going to Hillside for over 20 years. Sometimes as a day camper. Sometimes in my small motorhome. I have found the staff and management to be very helpful and responsive. The place is literally on the side of a hill. So be prepared to hike up and down. It's a very rural and spread out place. The facilities are on the rustic side. But again I must emphasize it is a very woodsy, natural place. They do have a small dance hall and occasionally have drag shows. The pool is very nicely maintained. The part of the camp adjacent to the rec hall and café is a bit more noisy than the farther out sites.
