The office staff was very helpful and knowledgeable of the area. Overall, it was quiet for our stay, but it was also a chilly weekend, so there weren't a lot of guests. There appear to only be 2 tenting sites, and they are a decent size, and very close to the bathhouse and the playground. The bathhouse was exceptionally well maintained. I was impressed. The women's side has two shower stalls and three toilet stalls. All were clean and stocked with toilet paper. The playground was small, but great for keeping the kids occupied. The grounds were well maintained. Overall, we had a good stay!" This comprehensive review highlights the helpful staff, the cleanliness of facilities, and the family-friendly amenities.

Another enthusiastic recommendation noted, "Nice park to hang out. Got everything. Dairy Queen right there. Fishing right there. Park close by and you can rent boat slips for the day, month, or season. Highly recommended." • Full Hookups (for RVs): Although not explicitly detailed for all sites in the reviews, the presence of RV sites typically implies the availability of full hookups (electric, water, and sewer connections) or at least electric and water, essential for modern RV convenience. Prospective RVers should confirm specific hookup details for available sites.

  • Exceptionally Well-Maintained Bathhouse: A significant highlight mentioned in a review is the "exceptionally well maintained" bathhouse. This facility includes separate women's and men's sides, with the women's side specifically noted to have "two shower stalls and three toilet stalls. All were clean and stocked with toilet paper." Clean and reliable restrooms and showers are crucial amenities for any campground, especially for tent campers or those in smaller RVs.

Promotions or Special Offers

While specific, temporary promotions are often best confirmed directly with the campground, Hobo Park Campground, as a municipal or privately run facility, may offer various rate structures that can be considered "offers" for different types of stays. Based on general campground practices in Minnesota and the amenities offered, potential promotions or pricing structures might include:

  • Daily, Weekly, and Monthly Rates: Most campgrounds offer tiered pricing, where the per-night cost decreases with longer stays. This provides a built-in discount for those planning extended visits. Given the ability to rent boat slips for the "day, month, or season," it's highly likely they have flexible rental periods for sites as well.

  • Off-Season Discounts: During the shoulder seasons (spring and fall in Minnesota), when demand is lower, campgrounds sometimes offer reduced rates. While one review noted a quiet "chilly weekend," indicating fewer guests, this might correspond to periods of lower pricing.

  • Seasonal Site Options: Although not explicitly mentioned as a full seasonal park, the availability of boat slips for the "season" suggests that long-term site rentals might be an option, providing a significant cost saving for those wanting a summer-long base.

  • In-Town Convenience as a Value Add: While not a discount, the immediate proximity to Dairy Queen, local shops, and the lake itself offers significant convenience that enhances the value of a stay, effectively functioning as a "perk" of choosing this campground.

For the most current and accurate information on rates, specific site availability, and any potential promotions, it is always recommended to directly contact Hobo Park Campground using the provided phone numbers. It is especially advisable to inquire about peak season availability as popular campgrounds can fill up quickly.

A nice park next to the lake. Boat slip right next to the park. Most of the sites are kinda small so it looks like a parking lot of campers. You do get a fire ring and table on a little grass patch.
