For RVers traversing the vast landscapes of Texas, finding a convenient, no-fuss place to rest and recharge is often a top priority. In the heart of Ranger, Texas, Horseshoe RV aims to be just that: a straightforward and accommodating stop for both transient travelers and those looking for a longer-term base. While it might not boast the bells and whistles of a resort, it offers essential comforts and practicality, particularly appealing to those who value simplicity and efficiency on the road.
Horseshoe RV has carved out a niche for itself as a practical choice for many Texans and cross-country travelers. As one reviewer highlighted, the sites are notably "level and long enough to not have to disconnect" your rig, a significant convenience after a long day of driving. This feature alone can save valuable time and effort, making it ideal for an overnight stop or a quick rest. The park is often characterized as "very basic," which for many RVers is exactly what they're looking for – a clean, accessible spot with essential hookups without the added cost of amenities they might not use. While some feedback mentions a lack of on-site management or overt security, the park is primarily home to "mostly permanent residents," which can contribute to a stable and quiet environment. This type of community often means a reliable, consistent presence, even if formal management isn't constantly visible.

As a more basic and functionally focused RV park, specific, regularly advertised "promotions or special offers" might not be as prevalent as in larger, resort-style facilities. I did not stay at this park. Throughout the day, I called and left a message, sent a text, then called two more times. I ended up staying just down the road at Wild Country RV Resort, 580 TX-490 Spur, Cisco, TX 76437. He answered on the second ring.
Dec 30, 2024 · Murf077Very basic. No security or on-site manager. Mostly permanent residents. However, the sites are level and long enough to not have to disconnect.
Mar 14, 2025 · Kathie BealerI wouldn't say this is an awesome park, but for a layover campground it was great. They have very long and level sites. We needed to stay an extra night due to our plans changing and they were very accommodating. We paid $20 a night for full hookup through Passport America. If we come back through again we will definitely stay again..
Jan 11, 2020 · FindUsCampingI don’t usually do negative reviews. Place needs some serious TLC. Was ok for one night to get to our next destination.
Feb 28, 2025 · David ColardThe campground has been newly purchased. The new owners are working hard to update all the amenities and sites. Full hook-ups. Escapee discount available. Easy access from I-20 but far enough away so no road noise. Large, well-spaced sites, mostly pull-thru so you don't have to unhook your car. All the staff here very friendly. We would definitely come back!
