Quiet camping but be prepared for a decent walk. Helpful if you have a wagon for your gear. You can camp lakefront. Easy access to get on the lake in whatever type of watercraft.

Great NC state park with camping right on the water. Pretty good walk to the sites from the parking lot so pack light, for fewer trips with the provided wheel barrows. Nice bathhouse at the parking lot, and lockers at the sites to store your snacks from the critters. Boat right up to your site from the lake, and we went swimming in the lake as well. Great place and nearest park to the Bigfoot festival.

Nice place but walk in camping spots aren't good at all. Most are too far or high from the water to fish or swim except a cpl really shallow spots on one side

It was very dog friendly, the bathrooms were nice, and nice place to barbeque in the picnic area. We had fun getting warm by the fire and roasting food, too busy enjoying the peace to take pictures.
