Lake Pan RV Village About
For RV owners across Florida, finding an accessible and affordable place to stay, whether for a quick stopover or a longer-term residency, is often a key consideration. Lake Pan RV Village in Lake Panasoffkee, Florida, aims to provide such an option. Situated on the southern banks of the expansive Lake Panasoffkee, this RV village presents itself as a rustic country retreat, offering a more simple and budget-conscious approach to RV living in Central Florida. It's designed to cater to those who prioritize cost-effectiveness and direct access to outdoor activities, particularly fishing and boating, in a less polished setting.
Recent guest experiences at Lake Pan RV Village have been mixed, suggesting that while it aims for affordability, this can come with certain trade-offs. Some previous visitors have highlighted significant concerns regarding the park's maintenance and the condition of its facilities. Issues such as "power kept going off and on daily due to the parks electrical system," and "the pump and well malfunctioned several times" have been reported. Guests also mentioned "buildings are run down" and "major pot holes, and deep voids in the ground." Customer service has also been a point of contention, with some describing staff as "un professional and un friendly." While some older reviews praise its "friendly and helpful staff," "clean restrooms and pool," and describe it as a "great place to relax," newer feedback suggests a decline in these areas. It's noted as "the cheapest place to stay," but with the caution that "you get what you pay for." This indicates that potential visitors should manage their expectations regarding amenities and overall upkeep, focusing on its core offerings of lake access and budget rates.
Lake Pan RV Village is situated at 190 NW 4th Dr, Lake Panasoffkee, FL 33538, USA. This location places it directly on the southern banks of the large freshwater Lake Panasoffkee, providing direct access to a significant natural resource in Central Florida. Lake Panasoffkee itself is a prominent lake known for its fishing opportunities, particularly bass and panfish, and is connected to the Withlacoochee River system.
The RV village boasts convenient accessibility, being located just off I-75 (specifically, near Exit 321), which is a major north-south interstate highway running through Florida. This makes it an easy stop for RVers traveling through the state or for locals looking for a quick getaway without straying too far from major routes. Despite being close to the interstate, the park aims for a country setting. However, some reviews mention "noisy area" due to "air boats most days" and audible "I-75 traffic all the time," so those seeking absolute silence should be aware. The park's proximity to I-75 also means relatively easy access to larger towns and cities. The Villages, a large active adult community with extensive shopping, dining, and entertainment options, is less than 20 minutes away. Ocala is also within a short drive, offering further amenities and attractions. For outdoor enthusiasts, the surrounding area offers additional opportunities for exploring natural trails and other water activities beyond the lake. While the park itself has internal roadways, some guests have noted the presence of "major pot holes, and deep voids in the ground," suggesting that care should be taken when navigating within the property.
Lake Pan RV Village, despite its rustic charm and budget-friendly approach, offers a range of services designed to cater to basic RV camping needs and provide access to the lake. However, based on recent reviews, the reliability and upkeep of some of these services have been questioned.
- RV Sites: The park provides various RV sites, including:
- Full Hookup Sites: These sites typically include 30-amp and 50-amp electrical connections, water, and sewer hookups for self-contained RVs.
- Big Rig Friendly: The park is advertised as accommodating large RVs, with "big rig friendly large pull-through sites" available for easy entry and exit.
- Sites with Concrete Patios: Some sites may offer concrete patios, while others might be more basic, with gravel or grass surfaces.
- Basic Cabin Rentals: The park also offers rustic cabins for rent, providing an alternative lodging option. Some reviews mention a "cozy queen bed, an equipped full kitchen, and a bathroom with a stand-up shower."
- Boat Slips & Ramp: With its lakefront location, the RV village provides boat slips for rent and a boat access ramp, catering directly to fishing and boating enthusiasts.
- Heated Swimming Pool: A heated swimming pool is advertised as an amenity, providing a place for relaxation and recreation. However, recent reviews suggest that the pool and other facilities (like bathrooms) may sometimes be "shut down locked and blocked off."
- Laundry Facilities: On-site laundry facilities are typically available, though recent feedback indicates these may also experience intermittent closures or maintenance issues.
- Bathhouses: Restroom and shower facilities are present, but their cleanliness and availability have been points of concern in recent reviews.
- Pet Park: The park is pet-friendly and features a fenced dog run, accommodating guests traveling with their furry companions.
- Free Wi-Fi & Cable: These services are advertised for guest connectivity and entertainment, though the reliability of these has not been consistently praised in recent customer feedback.
- Propane Sales: On-site propane is available for purchase.
- Package Handling: The park reportedly handles incoming packages from services like Amazon and UPS, though reviews indicate this service might operate on a schedule convenient to staff, causing delays.
It is crucial for prospective guests to note that while these services are offered, recent customer experiences highlight potential inconsistencies in their functionality and maintenance. Visitors should inquire about the current operational status of all facilities, especially if planning a longer stay.
Lake Pan RV Village offers several features and highlights that, while varying in consistent delivery based on recent customer feedback, aim to attract visitors seeking a particular type of Florida camping experience:
- Direct Lake Access and Fishing: The most prominent feature is its location directly on Lake Panasoffkee, a renowned fishing lake. This provides immediate access for boating and fishing, with a dedicated boat ramp and fishing dock. For anglers, this is a significant draw, offering opportunities to catch bass, panfish, crappie, and catfish right from the park or via their own boat.
- Rustic "Old Florida" Charm: The park presents itself with a "rustic country charm" in a "lovely quiet country setting," appealing to those who prefer a less manicured, more traditional Florida outdoor experience. This contrasts with more modern, resort-style RV parks.
- Budget-Friendly Rates: Compared to many other RV parks in Florida, Lake Pan RV Village is often noted for its affordability, making it an option for budget-conscious travelers or long-term residents.
- Pet-Friendly with Dog Park: The inclusion of a large, fenced dog run is a plus for RVers traveling with pets, providing a dedicated space for their animals to exercise.
- Community Activities (Seasonal): While recent negative reviews highlight a lack of engagement, the park's official description mentions a "full activity schedule in season" and a "recreation hall" where "strangers become friends and friends get treated like family," suggesting a potential for social gatherings and events, especially during peak seasons.
- Proximity to Nature: Beyond Lake Panasoffkee, the area offers access to the Withlacoochee State Forest for hiking and wildlife viewing, and other local trails, catering to nature enthusiasts.
- Variety of Site Types: Offering both full hookup RV sites (including big rig friendly options) and basic cabin rentals provides flexibility for different types of campers and budgets.
It's important to cross-reference these advertised features with recent traveler reviews to get the most accurate picture of their current condition and operational status. The "old Florida" charm may appeal to some, but issues with infrastructure and maintenance cited in recent reviews are a consideration.
As a more budget-oriented RV park, Lake Pan RV Village's "promotions" often revolve around its competitive pricing for longer stays rather than traditional discounts. Given the varied feedback, any special offers would likely focus on attracting long-term residents with favorable rates. While specific, explicit "promotions" are not widely advertised in the same way as larger, resort-style parks, here's what Floridians can generally infer or inquire about:
- Monthly and Extended Stay Rates: The park's primary "offer" is its relatively lower monthly rates compared to many other RV parks in Florida. This makes it an attractive option for snowbirds or individuals seeking affordable long-term housing in an RV. The park clearly advertises monthly rates (e.g., $1,000 for standard RV sites, $1,500 for lake view).
- Weekly Rates: Weekly rates are also available (e.g., $500 for standard, $700 for lake view), offering a discount over daily rates for those staying for a week or more.
- Daily Rates: Daily rates (e.g., $100 for standard, $200 for lake view) are offered for short-term visitors, though these are typically the highest per-night cost.
- Seasonal Considerations: Like many Florida parks, rates may fluctuate with the seasons, with higher demand and potentially higher prices during the peak winter months when snowbirds flock to the state. Conversely, off-season rates might be more attractive.
Due to the concerns raised in recent reviews about service and amenities, potential visitors are highly advised to directly contact Lake Pan RV Village to confirm current rates, any unadvertised specials, and, crucially, to inquire about the operational status and maintenance plans for facilities like power, water, restrooms, and laundry. Given some past experiences of being "locked in on a 6 month agreement" with subsequent issues, understanding the terms and conditions for extended stays is paramount.
If you are considering Lake Pan RV Village for your next RV adventure or long-term stay, here is the direct contact information:
Address: 190 NW 4th Dr, Lake Panasoffkee, FL 33538, USA
Phone: (352) 793-2051
Mobile Phone: +1 352-793-2051
It's also advisable to check their official website, as well as third-party review sites (like Good Sam, RV LIFE Campground Reviews, and The Dyrt), for the most up-to-date information on rates, availability, and recent guest experiences. Direct communication with the park management is recommended to address any specific concerns or to confirm the current status of facilities and services.
For Florida locals, especially those on a tight budget or seeking a no-frills, direct-access point to some of Central Florida's best freshwater fishing, Lake Pan RV Village might be considered. Its primary appeal lies in its affordability and its prime location directly on Lake Panasoffkee, offering immediate access to a significant natural resource. If your main objective is to have a base for fishing, boating, and enjoying the rustic, less developed side of Florida, and you are prepared for a "you get what you pay for" experience, this park could fit the bill.
The park's focus on long-term and monthly rates makes it potentially suitable for Floridians looking for an economical extended stay, perhaps as a seasonal base. The availability of full hookup sites and the pet-friendly environment are standard conveniences that are generally appreciated. The "rustic country charm" offers a stark contrast to highly manicured, resort-style parks, which might appeal to those who prefer a more authentic, less commercialized camping atmosphere. Its proximity to I-75 makes it easy to reach from various parts of Florida, ensuring convenience for local travel. For locals who prioritize lake access and cost-effectiveness above all else, and who are willing to overlook potential maintenance issues and a no-frills approach to service, Lake Pan RV Village could serve as a utilitarian option for their RV needs. However, it is essential for Floridians to temper expectations and verify current conditions directly with the park before committing to a stay, particularly a long-term one.
Customer Reviews
Attention everyone, please be aware of what this park is really about. We were locked in on a 6 month agreement and it was just horrible. First of all our power kept going off and on daily due to the parks electrical system , the pump and well malfunctioned several times and they only put a band-aid on it. Due to this happening they shut down locked and blocked off with park benches of all bathrooms and laundry service, but noticed staff using both facilities. Buildings are run down but their fix is to cover it up by putting a coat of paint on them instead of fixing it up. Place is run down and the owner goes right along with them. When ordering packages from Amazon. Ups etc they hold your packages until its convenient for the staff to give them to you. A big liability to the park is major pot holes , and deep voids in the ground especially along the roadway where people have to walk . My wife fell due to them and broke her foot. They don't do lawn care or any raking so several times I was walking through blankets of leaves. When they leaf blow the roadways they blow in an upward manner and therefore piling the dust all over everyone's r.v. and vehicles. Very un professional and un friendly staff who are only there for themselves. When asking a question or concerning issues in the park they are argumentive and down right snotty. Although this is the cheapest place to stay remember you get what you pay for. I highly recommend spending your money at another park even if it means to spend a little more. Best of luck to you all. I know I won't be back. I rated this place a 1 and that's being generous.
Not a campground. Not family friendly. This is a wanna-be retirement community with worse than HOA rules with busted up school busses and old campers with tarps over them. If I could leave zero stars I would. BTW, NOBODY has the right to yell at children that aren't yours. Shame on anyone running this crappy place!
Truck camper friendly! Let me start with that since so many places don’t care for them. This place is great. I got a callback very shortly after I left a message. Easy and smooth booking process. Staff is friendly, helpful and I was guided to my site which took the hassle out of finding it myself since I was in a new place. Site had full hookups and everything worked well. Lots of friendly folks around. I will be coming back to stay when I’m around the area. If you have questions, just call and ask and you’ll get a response. Office hours are 9am-4pm. They have frozen ice cream so 5 stars!
We liked this RV park so much that we made reservations to winter here. Very nice and clean. The staff are all very friendly. My only grip is that they are a 55+ park. If would be nice if all 55+ RV parks would have shown on their websites or when searching. This was one of 5 parks that I went to that where 55+, which wouldn't be a big deal except I had my 8 year old granddaughter with me. One big plus for Lake Pan is that since Olivia would only be with me less than a week the park let us stay
NOT WORTH IT! This is my second time coming and won’t be back and won’t recommend this place anymore. If you have absolutely no standards then this place is perfect for you. Right when I was about to go to bed I noticed a stain on the comforter and smelled it. IT WAS PISS ON THE BED !!! WHATS CRAZY IS THAT THE CLEANING LADY HAD THE AUDACITY TO MAKE THE BED WITH USED SHEETS. You have a 50/50 chance for having your room dirty. The floors wasn’t mopped (underneath my feet where black) the only reason why I’m putting this bad review is because they have absolutely no desire to make their guest return or even make it right. When I called their emergency phone number and explained what happened (her response was “well the cleaning lady isn’t coming until morning) when I expressed my frustration and telling her that this is an emergency because I have no comforters, sheets, and pillow cases to sleep on. That’s when she rudely start saying “are you going to listen to me or not”…. Not right away did she say “okay we will bring you comforters” instead she waited until I was in pure frustration for her to be “okay we will bring you the sheets” when the maintenance guy arrived … he tried to open my cabin door and then he knocked…. Rudely said “I need to see what you are talking about” automatically making think they didn’t trust what I was saying..he was looking through the sheet to see if they find the piss stain….. it was gross to see him touch this blanket and contaminate himself….i had to find it for him…. Then he apologized…… what makes the cherry on top was I turned in the key in the morning and I got the most insincere apology…. And making me think they are going to take the matter seriously…. A discount would’ve been nice… I’m a disabled woman and had to deal with the unnecessary stress… all I got was “I’m sorry”…. They obviously need the money more than a 5 star and return guest…. I’m going to spill the beans…. THEY HAVE A CODE FOR THE BATHROOMS/SHOWER AND ITS THE SAME CODE FOR THE WOMEN AND MEN BATHROOMS!!!! THE SAME KEY FOR THE CABINS IS THE SAME KEY TO THE CABIN BATHROOMS!!! Major red flag!!!! Too much trust isn’t my cup of tea. The only good thing about this place is the activities that are included. The price isn’t worth my safety and comfort. Rent this place on your own risk.
