As Lake Powhatan Recreation Area & Campground is part of the Pisgah National Forest and managed by Naventure, specific, time-limited promotions or special offers are not typically advertised broadly outside of their official booking channels or direct communications. Pricing for campsites and glamping tents is usually set for the season, with variations based on site type (e.g., standard, electric, full hookup) and day of the week (e.g., weekday vs. weekend for glamping). Federal Interagency Senior/Access Passes may offer discounts on standard campsite rates.
Therefore, the most reliable way to inquire about any current offers, special rates, or available discounts is to contact Lake Powhatan Recreation Area & Campground directly or check their official booking platforms. When you reach out, you might consider asking about:
- Seasonal Rates: Whether there are different rates for peak vs. off-peak seasons, or for weekdays versus weekends.
- Longer Stay Discounts: Occasionally, campgrounds may offer a slight reduction for extended stays, such as weekly rates, though this is less common in national forest campgrounds.
- Senior or Access Pass Discounts: If you hold a Federal Interagency Senior Pass or Access Pass, confirm how these apply to campsite fees.
- Any Package Deals: While less typical for a national forest campground, sometimes there might be packages if combined with certain local activities or attractions, though this would be rare.
It's important to note that any construction, as mentioned in one review, might influence site availability or specific area access, though it's typically managed to minimize impact. Always confirm these details and any special offers directly, as they are subject to change and depend on official park policies.

Customer Reviews
Went here for a quick get away with one of my border collies. It was a peaceful place though they were still doing construction from the hurricane. It wasn't the best think waking up to construction noises ans chainsaws at 7am, that was a negative but the rest was very peaceful. Bathrooms were nice and everything connected in loops so I never worried about getting lost. Lots of great sniffing spots for the dog too!
FANTASTIC campground! Situated conveniently near the lake, with a gravel pad, 50a electric, water, and sewer you can't ask for much better, other than the price, which was a bit high for a state/national park/forest, in my humble opinion, at $55/night. This is a great place to stop to disconnect, as cell phone service is virtually nonexistent within the campground. Starlink works intermittently, but not long enough to get any work done, so be prepared for that limitation.
It was great went there for my birthday weekend from the 1st of May till the 4th it's a great little place good fishing the staff was nice my kids played with the ducklings mama duck stayed close and watched the rain kinda messed us up the second night and flooded our tent so we had to go home good thing we live 20 minutes away. Flooding was our own fault.
This campground is located in the Bent Creek area of Asheville NC in the Pisgah National Forest We had a friend visiting w/ her 3 dogs and we had our 2 dogs. Two campsites were reserved but we were able to park both our camper van and her Mini Winnie RV on the one loop RV campsite. On the extra site we parked the pickup for quick trips to town. She used the electric and we used our solar. If you need electric/ water you must reserve early since those sites go fast! There are also glamping options on the Hard Times loop. Although I didn’t see the interior, on the outside is a large canvas tent with a front porch and chairs. Reservations should be made through recreation.gov. If you have a senior pass for National Parks you can also get the discount @ National forest sites like Lake Powhatan. The staff at this campground is friendly and helpful .
A woman working the front on 06/05/2025 denied my entry into the park. I have the "America the Beautiful Military Lifetime" pass that grants free entry to all national parks due to my service connected disability, and she said that this park did not accept my pass. I explained to her what it was, and attempted to show her documentation, but she was dismissive. I then left, and attempted to reached out on the .gov website for clarification, but received no additional assistance. I'm hoping that this review will help me with this.
