This was a very nice 55 community when we moved in 3 yrs ago. We purchased a new home . Everything has went down hill since moving in. Our pool needs work . Clubhouse ceiling is leaking and has needed a new roof for sometime.shuffle board needs work .we only have 5 chase lounge chairs, and five chairs for 2tables that are unsafe to sit in very rusty, they have our dock boarded up cant use it for fishing anymore, we have always had free lake water now they want to charge us 30.00 month. And in 3 yrs our rent has increased 230.00 and we never have our dinners we are promised, for the money we pay we don’t have what other parks have . Believe me I have researched many of them . And the owners should realize why all these new homes are just sitting and not selling and many have been sitting for over two yrs ….our new home could never be sold for what we have in it.
I know the reviews are mostly negative, but I have been here 2 1/2 years and I am very happy here. It took awhile for the owners to get some things done but I see a great improvement since I moved in. People complain about the lot rent, but we are lower than the other communities that we looked at. I can honestly say that my neighbors through out this park are amazing. My wife and I have lived in a number of neighborhoods throughout the years and have never had so many wonderful neighbors.
I have taken down my last review for Lakeside Estates in Umatilla because the owners have fulfilled their promises to the residents. We now have a new roof on the clubhouse and there will be a new dock in a couple of days. Many trees have been removed or groomed, and the park looks so much better. I only wish that we still had lake water to water our plants with but that was too expensive, and I understand. My last thought is when they raise the rent it needs to be in small amounts, many of us live off social security. The neighborhood has friendly folks, and we have lots of fun. We have a monthly meal with the owners providing the main meat and folks bring a side dish. There are exercising classes, pool games, cornhole, shuffleboard, a pool and spa. I love this place!
I'm old. My neighbors are old. Most, if not all, have worked hard for many decades. They have raised families and lived the daily American Blue Collar grind. I believe that I speak for most of my friends at Lakeside Estates when I say that we would like to spend our retirement years in peace, with some degree of comfort. The folks here are not afforded the peace and comfort they were expecting when they bought a home in Lakeside Estates and the reason for this comes down to one word and that word is "OWNERSHIP". The owners of Lakeside Estates have been guilty of false advertising, false promises ane false expectations. But worse than all that is their stone cold indifference to what affects their decisions might have on our lives. I was told that the owners live in Texas and that makes sense to me, because Lakeside Estates lies approximately 850 mile from the Texas border. 850 miles tells me that when the owners bomb us with rate increases, policy changes, broken promises and pitiful local management, they can't hear the explosions and they sure don't feel the pain.
I am amazed at Lakeside Estates response to Dee Ratcliffs review. Who or what is responding? Is it AI from a computer or a real living breathing person that's just willingly ignorant? Dee's pictures were taken before the so called storm, so the so called storm had nothing to do with the pictures. I say "so called storm" because it was just some wind and rain, nothing major. I've got to say that I'm amazed at how much you know about this park when you're sitting in Texas. You are either sneaking in here and avoiding any contact with the residents of the park, or you have someone here thats feeding you really bad information....Up north, were I'm from, we call that lying.
