For Kentuckians seeking a memorable escape that combines the tranquility of nature with unique family-friendly experiences, Laurel Bend in Falmouth offers a distinctive option. More than just a traditional campground, Laurel Bend provides comfortable lodging and an engaging environment, making it an excellent choice for those looking to explore Northern Kentucky's attractions or simply unwind in a peaceful rural setting. Understanding what a charming destination like Laurel Bend offers can help you plan your next perfect Kentucky getaway.
While often categorized simply as a "campground," Laurel Bend appears to offer a richer, more diverse experience, leaning towards a "farm stay" or "cottage rental" model, according to customer reviews that highlight comfortable lodging options. A campground typically provides designated sites for tents or RVs, allowing guests to bring their own accommodations. However, places like Laurel Bend expand on this by offering fixed structures, such as cottages or cabins, for rent, providing a more "glamping" or home-away-from-home experience within a natural or semi-rural setting. For locals in Kentucky, such destinations are invaluable. They offer a convenient way to step away from daily routines, whether for a weekend retreat or a longer family vacation, without having to travel far from home. They serve as a base for exploring the state's diverse landscapes, historical sites, and recreational opportunities, or simply as a place to relax and enjoy the peace of the countryside, often with added unique attractions like interacting with farm animals, as described by visitors to Laurel Bend.

We will definitely be recommending people to Laurel Bend! We stayed a couple of nights in their cottage on site. It was very nice and slept 6 of us with room for more. The owners were very kind and let us pet their alpacas and goats and pony. They even brought feed out and let us feed them. Our kids loved that! W really appreciated their hospitality and from reading some of their guestbook, it sounds like we aren't the only ones. Nice place and well-maintained. Highly recommend!
Jul 27, 2021 · Adam HornThis place was AMAZING!!!! We stayed here over Christmas, Dec. 21-28th. Close to both the Ark and Creation Museum, as well as the Cincinnati Airport and zoo! The home was clean, and very comfortable for our party of 9, easily sleeps 10! Plenty of linens and towels for our crew! Hosts were very nice, great communication! The animals are cute, the Alpacas were our favorite!!! We would definitely stay here again!!!
Jan 11, 2023 · Paloma WallI took a group of 20 students to the Creation Museum and we stayed at Laurel Bend for 3 nights. It was fantastic. Our bus broke down and the owners worked with us to get it fixed, find vans for us to use while we were there, and offered to feed us and let us stay extra nights if need be. My students really enjoyed the property and had a ton of fun. I couldn’t be more happy that we decided to stay there.
Jul 16, 2021 · David SheldonWe stayed here during a funeral. Was very well prepared for us, clean and fully fitted with grocery items just in case u could not get any food. Like everything u need is taken care of. Would definitely come again.
Nov 10, 2023 · Eric RelaxWas here for a weekend of August 7th & 8th with the church to see the Ark and a museum. The bathroom remodeling is correct. Our bunkhouse absolutely wasn't what it was supposed to be according to what was told. To have the men and boys be separated from the female's, it was just sleep on either end. Still wide open so you couldn't change clothes even unless you dragged your belongings to the bathroom. Beds slept awful. We had what we needed but we went to buy it. The sitting area in the photos was absolutely not what we had. And I think it was extremely over-rated especially for the price. I'll provide photos in a little bit.
