The opportunity for a cozy and warm stay, even during colder shoulder seasons, is a testament to the efforts made by the on-site team to ensure guest comfort, as highlighted by one camper’s positive experience with a complimentary cabin upgrade during an unexpectedly cold spell. This level of personalized, friendly attention can make a significant difference in the overall camping experience.

I have debated about doing this. I have camped for many years. I have been to some crappy campgrounds. But this was by far the worst. We had NEVER CAMPED HERE BEFORE. We joined in October of 2024 for the 2025 season. This campground is run by a corporate company. There are managers there. The managers 90% Of the time were out to the PA campground. Yes they were out to the PA campground due to staffing issues there. So that tells the campers at Layland who cares As the corporation owns 4 other campgrounds. Yes we have a trailer. But I like to take long hot showers. The bathrooms are beyond disgusting. I don’t think they are ever cleaned. Or if they are it’s very seldom. We had a campsite. My husband would go out once a week to try and put our trailer where it needed to be. Due to the drainage and mud couldn’t. Finally at the middle of June he asked for another site. We had paid for when the campground opened. We could not use the campground until we got another site in the middle of June. No compensation for not being able to camp. The last straw was the site we had there are steel sewer tanks. They had just drained the tank and my husbands right foot went down through to the tank. My husband is 6” Tall. If that had been a toddler it could have been devastating . Now if they had acted right away and replaced the tank. That would have been great. But this happened on 8/2/2025 we pulled our trailer out on the last week of August 25 or around there. Nothing had been done to fix the problem. What if that was a toddler. I do have photos of right after the tank collapsed and their temporary fix. But I will not post them. This campground is not safe and not sanitary. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. It’s sad because the campground has a lot of potential. But they don’t care. All they care about is making the campground an all year campground. The manager will say it takes time the corporation just bought it 2 years ago. Well soap and water and disinfectants are not that expensive. Hire a seasonal camper to maintain the bathrooms. Again I was lucky I have a trailer. Feel really bad for tents they don’t have a choice. I would go on Facebook and post this review. But I made comments about the managers and the bathrooms. lol 😂 I got blocked. I was not going to respond to their comment. But Number 1 my husband was never asked if he wanted medical attention. That is lie number 1. He was asked if he was hurt. Number 2. The managers were not even there they were in PA. THE managers Father was there. Number 3 when I worked. If someone got hurt a accident report was made. Number 4 lie we were never asked to move the trailer. The person that got hurt and any witnesses had to sign the accident report. My Husband did not sign anything. There were promises made that the tank would be replaced. The incident happened on 8/2 we never pulled the trailer out until the last week of August. When my husband stopped at the office the manager and her husband said pulling out for the season. My husband said permanently. Statement made oh we have to put the new tanks in. Then in the next breath statement was made we have to get and find new tanks. CAMPER BEWARE. Also as far as talking to you No Thanks. Now I maybe willing to talk to the CEO of the corporation if you would like to give their name and number. Also you say there is a accident report. Like I said if there is a report of any kind. My husbands signature should be on it. Why don’t you take a photo is such report. Can guarantee my husbands signature is not there. Also we have 2 dogs. My dogs have had their vaccines. But no one ever asked for the rabies certificate. If your going to say you have that again take a photo and post it. Now I am not saying they never ask for the rabies certificate. I am only saying they never asked it of us.
Sep 15, 2025 · christine vanceMy daughter and I stayed here last week. We were up visiting my elderly mom and had to tent camp due to issue's with my new car and a hitch... Anyway it got pretty cold the first night and the man that runs the campground stopped in the morning to ask if we were OK. He then said he wanted to upgrade our site to a cabin at no extra charge so we would be warm. I've never been to a campground where the owners were so nice! The cabin was wonderful with two bunks and a double bed. We were so warm and cozy. I've been camping in NY every yr for 4 yrs. In fact we stayed at cheerful valley in Phelps they put us in a flood prone campsite in a tent with rain predicted all week. We got a call while we were out and were told our campsite was flooding to come move all our stuff. We paid the diff to stay in a cabin.. We loved this stay so much we will be back in May and again in Oct. The new bathroom was great and so clean. Can't wait to come back!! Tysm Flint creek!!
Oct 26, 2024 · detecting KnoxvilleFirst time and thought everyone was very friendly. Our kids loved playing with the other kids and they had the cutest Memorial Day parade. Lots of kid activities they plan throughout the day. They redid the pool and the playground is new because the old one didn’t meet safety standards. I saw other reviews saying no one was In the office which I didn’t find the case. They were very welcoming and helpful with any questions. We end up buying a seasonal site because my kids love it!
May 28, 2024 · Erica BurgerWas our first time going there and the place is so peaceful and beautiful. The staff was great to deal with and the camp sites were great . The price was great and all the extra activities that they do with the adults and the kids were awesome. Will be becoming a regular place to go camping
Oct 13, 2024 · James ReynoldsThis is a very nice place. Clean and well maintained. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful The only reason for less than five stars is that the new owners are still in a rebuilding mode. Give these folks another year to get organized and repairs made and this campground will rate the full five stars. We will be going back.
