More than just a place to park an RV or pitch a tent, this is a dedicated family campground nestled along the scenic Suncook River. It’s an environment meticulously designed to foster relaxation, quality family time, and the simple joys of the outdoors. The name itself, "Lazy River," is a perfect description of the atmosphere you will find here—a laid-back vibe where the pace of life slows down to match the gentle flow of the river.
The Lazy River Camping Area spans approximately 25 acres, offering a variety of site types to suit every style of camper, from seasoned RV enthusiasts to those who prefer the traditional feel of a tent site. What truly sets this local gem apart is its focus on creating a welcoming community spirit, a sentiment frequently echoed by repeat visitors. It’s a place where the staff is known for being genuinely friendly and the grounds are consistently well-maintained, ensuring your stay is comfortable and hassle-free from the moment you arrive. With the state capital of Concord just a short drive away, this campground offers the ideal blend of secluded nature and convenient access to local amenities and attractions, making it the perfect seasonal home base for local New Hampshire families.
Lazy River Camping Area is conveniently located at 427 Goboro Rd, Epsom, NH 03234, USA. This location positions the campground in the heart of Merrimack County, making it incredibly accessible for residents across New Hampshire, particularly those in the central and southern regions. Epsom is strategically situated near major state routes, including NH Route 4 and NH Route 28, which means getting here is straightforward whether you are coming from Manchester, Portsmouth, or the Concord area.
Its proximity to the city of Concord—just a short, manageable drive—is a significant advantage. Local campers can easily run into the city for supplies, grab a meal, or visit historical sites without spending hours on the road. The immediate local area is known for its rural New England charm, providing a peaceful contrast to city life. The campground is nestled near the banks of the Suncook River, which forms a major part of its recreational identity. While the picturesque riverside spots are highly sought after, visitors should be aware that the peaceful river setting runs parallel to a nearby road, which may introduce a small amount of traffic noise in certain areas. Despite this minor consideration, the location is a superb gateway to exploring the greater New Hampshire region, including the Lakes Region and the New Hampshire Motor Speedway, both just a short trip away. This blend of seclusion and connection makes it an unmatched local choice.

Jul 20, 2025 · SaVaGe SaLeSStayed here from Monday through Thursday. Had tent site #1 down near the river with absolutely no one nearby the entire time we were here, only because they don't rent out sites 2 or 3 because of riverbank erosion. Other than the road being close by, across the river, this place has been great. Not the campground's fault but the river was really low which was a bummer but my dog, my gf and I still enjoyed it. A nice added bonus was the water and electricity hookup which was nice for charging and washing dishes. Possibly the only downside was the fact that he showers were only on the upper portion of the campground. I'd give this place a 4.5 but Google only allows 4 or 5 stars.
Aug 16, 2022 · Michael RyanIt's a no frills easy going kind of place. I've been here a handful of times and the management is always great, and hands off. No fire Nazis coming around at night telling you to put the fire out, or to quiet down. They have a playground and a pool, and also offer activities. Go here and check it out.
Jun 26, 2021 · Noreen MorganWarning - do not buy camp wood from the girl that drives around the park in a grey silver pickup truck - its still wet (not seasoned) and will not burn. Friendly staff - nice pool with horseshoe pits next to it - nice pool table on second floor of building where the office is. They treat you like an adult and do not bother you if you’re not trouble/an idiot lol. Been there multiple times and will be back again next year.
Jul 22, 2024 · james galvinDo Not recommend if you have a RV. Roads had alot of pot holds. Need to upgrade the campground. Need to upgrade pictures. Trees need alot of trimming. 👎
