Escape the constant hustle and bustle of New York life with a rejuvenating trip to the beautiful Western New York countryside. Sprawling across a vast 147 acres, this campground is designed to be your family's go-to spot for relaxation, adventure, and making lasting memories, all just a manageable drive from the state’s major metropolitan areas.
This destination is more than just a place to pitch a tent; it’s a full-service resort dedicated to providing diverse accommodations and plentiful recreational opportunities. Whether you prefer the simplicity of a lakeside tent site, the convenience of a full-hookup RV spot, or the comfort of a newly renovated cabin, Letchworth Valley Campground & Resort offers a unique upstate New York camping experience centered around a private 26-acre lake and the region's famous Wiscoy Creek.
Location and Accessibility for New York Locals
Letchworth Valley Campground & Resort is situated at 7037 Albro Rd, Pike, NY 14024, USA, placing it strategically in the scenic Wyoming County area of Western New York. For New York residents, the location offers an ideal, yet accessible, deep dive into nature. It is approximately one hour's drive south of both Rochester and Buffalo, making it a viable weekend escape for those living in the western and central parts of the state.
The resort is also incredibly close to one of New York's greatest natural wonders: Letchworth State Park, often nicknamed the "Grand Canyon of the East." Being just minutes (approximately 6.8 miles) from one of the park’s main entrances means that visitors have effortless access to miles of hiking trails, stunning waterfalls, and gorge views, extending the recreational possibilities far beyond the campground itself.
While the setting is wonderfully remote and private, offering the peace you seek in an outdoor vacation, visitors to the more primitive, remote tent sites should be aware that some internal trails can be rugged. Some customers have noted that a vehicle with higher clearance, such as a truck or SUV, may be more suitable for accessing certain hilly, off-road tent sites, particularly after heavy rain. However, the main areas and RV sections are easily navigated.
Diverse Accommodations and Essential Services Offered
A key strength of the Letchworth Valley Campground & Resort is the breadth of its lodging and on-site amenities, ensuring there is a comfortable option for every style of camper, from the most rustic to those who prefer 'glamping.'

I will definitely be coming back! First, it was easy to book online, which is always a huge plus. I booked a lakeside tent spot but when we realized how rainy it was going to be, it was easy to call and upgrade to a cabin over the phone. They sell firewood there and deliver it to your campsite, which I’ve never seen before! Bathroom houses are simple campground bathrooms but they’re nice, clean, the showers work great and the water gets really warm, which is nice on a chilly morning. The grounds are beautiful and most importantly, all of the staff was really friendly. I wasn’t there with kids but could tell it’s a great place for the whole family, they have activities to join, etc.
May 28, 2025 · Megan B.For a campground they should tell you a truck is required taking a car there is very risky due to the hill it’s on and poor condition of trails to get to tent sites. The tent sites are also on a hill which results in very crooked tents I know it’s the outdoors but could help to flatten it out a tad especially for how much you charge per site. Then they also tell you if you get stuck you have to get your own towing which would be understandable if they maintained the trails better. They also try and show the site right on the water which is a lie it’s a bit away from the water and not maintained enough to get to the water in the first place the weeds are waist level and I’m 6’0. They also charge you $10.00 per wood “bundle” which are very small pieces of wood and also wet. The bathrooms on the other hand are not maintained very well pretty dirty and can’t seem to even keep the toilet paper stocked honestly place doesn't even deserve to have the word letchworth in the name of it.
Aug 02, 2025 · Shane MaenzaI booked site 21 but was uninformed that the site was on a downhill slope, I have back problems & this made it beyond uncomfortable for atleast a decent night's rest. Tripping hazards all over the site ( small stubs of cut down trees) I ordered 3 bundles of wood which included a 4th for free. I received 1 actual wrapped up BUNDLE, the other wood was just thrown in the back of a gator, carelessly to deliver to us. Sadly it was also wet & didn't burn well at all. I also believe it was less than 4bundles worth, but me & my friend still carried the majority of it from the gator. I almost asked for a refund immediately because of how awful this site was. 10/10 would not recommend
Jul 30, 2025 · Joe StrebNice campground! We tented with our dog. Our sight overlooked the lake. There is a trail around the lake. The staff were very friendly.
Aug 12, 2025 · Lori MackeyAbsolutely love this campground. Well maintained, friendly staff, great fishing! Thousands of dragonflies, got to see the bald eagle flying around!
