Conclusion: Why This Place is Suitable for Vermont Locals
For Vermonters, Maple Grove Campground is an excellent local option because it serves as the perfect low-key, high-comfort base for regional exploration without demanding a long, strenuous drive. Many locals appreciate the "small and quiet" nature of the campground, which allows them to truly de-stress without sacrificing comfort.
Its prime location is key: it’s far enough away from the bustle of major areas like Burlington and the Stowe/Mansfield corridor to feel secluded and quiet, yet close enough that a day trip to either destination is simple and quick. This convenience allows locals to enjoy the best of Vermont’s city life, Lake Champlain access, and Green Mountain hiking without committing to a full-scale vacation. The attentiveness and pride of the local owners ensure a clean, well-run facility—a standard of quality that experienced Vermonters value. While it may not be packed with amenities for young children, for couples, dog owners, and those primarily seeking a quiet, clean, and reasonably priced spot to park their RV or pitch a tent while exploring the state, Maple Grove Campground is highly recommended and a fantastic local resource that promises a neat and restful stay.

Nice small and quiet campground. Great location for exploring northern Vermont. Pleasant camp host and reasonably priced. Good power, WiFi, decent shower house and water pressure. Make sure you have 20 feet of sewer hose as some sites the sewer is further. Overall would highly recommend.
Sep 06, 2025 · Jim KGreat, quiet campground that's close enough to Stowe, Mt Mansfield area and Burlington for easy day trips but far enough away to be secluded, shady, quiet and in nature. Not much in terms of amenities, a family with kids may struggle, but for my husband and dogs this was great. Awesome owners who were very attentive and keep everything very clean and neat! We got a site with grey water hookup which I've never seen before but was very handy, could shower and do dishes as normal and then just visited the dump station on the way out. Grocery store down the street, Steeple market, was great! Only negative was some less than respectful neighbors who burned trash twice and had some loose dog incidents. The owner said he would take care of it and I don't doubt that he will! We will definitely be back!
Aug 07, 2025 · Kelly RooneyWe were visiting friends in the area and camping for a week. We chose Maple Grove at random, but uncovered a hidden gem! Management is absolutely fabulous, the campground is very well maintained and location is convenient to Milton, St. Albans and southern Quebec day trips. Very fair prices on firewood and other supplies. Highly recommend, do not hesitate to camp here!
Aug 13, 2025 · Jeff SumerackiOur recent stay at Maple Grove Campground was most enjoyable. Got a site right next to our friends from North Carolina for the week. The owner, Mike, couldn't have been more accommodating. Plenty of room to spread out while at the campsite. We brought our own games, Cornhole and Kubb. However, we took advantage of activities close by: Slam T1D in Essex and the a day trip to see the wall murals in Shelborne, Canada to mention a couple! So much to do in Vermont. Thank you, Mike, for sharing your kindness with our out-of-state friends. So appreciated!
Aug 16, 2025 · SmithMike was very courteous and helpful. Sites are well maintained and had plenty of space. Bath house was exceptional and very clean all the time. Would highly recommend (especially as an alternative to North Beach CG!)
