Introduction / Overview: Your Adventure Basecamp in the Green Mountains
For Vermonters who own an RV or travel trailer, finding a home base that perfectly balances accessibility, modern comfort, and spectacular scenery is the key to a successful Green Mountain getaway. Smugglers Notch RV Village, located in the charming town of Jeffersonville, is precisely the destination designed for the local adventurer. This newer, village-style campground was created by Vermonters, for everyone, with a clear vision: to provide a convenient, comfortable, and community-focused launchpad for exploring the iconic attractions of Northern Vermont.
Nestled in the heart of the Green Mountains, the campground offers a peaceful, scenic environment with the dramatic peaks of Mount Mansfield and the famed Smugglers' Notch Pass serving as a breathtaking backdrop. Guests consistently praise the spaciousness of the sites—even for the largest of RVs—and the exceptional hospitality of the owner, Will, who is described as an extremely gracious host full of invaluable local knowledge. The atmosphere is quiet and relaxing, a perfect counterpoint to the thrilling outdoor activities just minutes away. Whether you are returning to the area or discovering its magic for the first time, Smugglers Notch RV Village provides a top-tier RV camping experience that feels both professional and intimately local.
Location and Accessibility: Near the Iconic Smugglers' Notch and Stowe
Smugglers Notch RV Village boasts an enviable location at 37 Rv Wy, Jeffersonville, VT 05464, placing it firmly in one of Vermont’s most sought-after recreation regions. The campground is situated on Route 108, offering unparalleled access to two of the state's premier mountain destinations.
The site is just a few miles from the main village of Smugglers' Notch Resort, providing easy access to its acclaimed year-round activities, and only a short, scenic drive from the resort town of Stowe. This central location makes it the ultimate base for a wide variety of activities, from hiking the challenging trails of Mount Mansfield to exploring the boutique shops and fine dining in Stowe.
Accessibility, particularly for larger RVs, is a critical feature here. The campground is designed to be "Big Rig Friendly" with wide, well-maintained access. However, a crucial warning for all RVers, especially locals familiar with the area, is to heed the Vermont State Law: single vehicles over 40 feet and combination vehicles (trucks with trailers) over 45 feet are strictly prohibited from driving over the historic, narrow, and winding Smugglers' Notch segment of VT Route 108 between Stowe and Jeffersonville. Guests must approach the campground from the Cambridge/Jeffersonville side to ensure a safe, hassle-free arrival. This important detail is a testament to the local focus of the management, who provide guidance to ensure everyone navigates the area successfully.

My husband and I totally enjoyed our stay here. We had such a good time here last year we knew we wanted to come back. The owner is so friendly and accommodating. The views spectacular! And driving through The Notch has always been a thrill. And, to top it all off there’s a great little restaurant just down the road for breakfast. Very peaceful! We will definitely be back! Thanks again, Due and Dick Kenn
Sep 07, 2025 · Sue KennThe location is awesome just a few miles from Smugglers Notch village and a short drive to Stowe, VT. Sites are large and spacious with full hook ups, we have a 44 foot fifth wheel. Will was an extremely gracious host and had a lot of local knowledge on activities and recommendations on places to visit in the area! The bath house is clean and well maintained. Would highly recommend this campground, the area is gorgeous with a variety of outdoor activities close by! Well worth the trip for some travelers from VA!!
Sep 03, 2025 · Tom MurrayThe Smugglers Notch RV Village served as a perfect spot for my week trip in Vermont. The location is great for outdoor recreational things to do north and south of the RV village. It has easy back in and pull through spots that help with a 30 foot camper. Will was awesome at check-in. He knows the area very well and is kind enough to supply emails for local and not so local hikes, swimming spots, and outdoor recreation. His emails have links for directions and well detailed write ups. His prices are very reasonable. Highly recommend the RV village if needing a spot in that area.
Sep 05, 2025 · Nicholas FialcowitzThis is a very nice park with a location that is hard to beat. We were promptly greeted by Will the owner and his friendly dog Maple. He gave some great recommendations and showed us to our site. Park was quiet and well laid out. Our site had plenty of room and all the amenities needed for a great stay. We will definitely be returning!
Aug 26, 2025 · Drew McMullanThis was a handy alternative to staying in the state park, which does not offer hookups. It was also convenient to have a sewer port at our site. The person we dealt with was super friendly and very helpful. The sites are close together, and there’s not a lot of shade, but for our purposes, it got the job done.
