Customer Reviews
White Oak Shores Campground in NC is the best RV Campground so far, Its sites are spacious. They are well-positioned for large and smaller RVs. The electrical post, water spigot, and cable box are higher off the ground than the 4 I visited in NC and 1 in Orlando, FL. It is very well maintained, super nice. All the people are very nice, everyone says hello and waves hi. The staff are extremely friendly and accommodating. They are very attentive and make my stay super enjoyable. They have 2 dog parks, 1 small and 1 large, which is very clean. The roads are very wide and easy to drive through. They placed me in their new sites due to my long 14-day stay; very little leveling was needed, most sites look level to me. I am here during their off-season and would love to come back in the summer season, hopefully, they have space available.
This rv park does have a beautiful pier on the water, but they only have a couple full hookup sites they use for TT members. We were placed in the field where the row of dumpsters sat for the entire park. For 5 days, we endured the smell and flies. When they picked up one of the full dumpsters to change it out, they placed it directly behind our rig, picked up another full dumpster, and then left. The flies then swarmed, and at that point, we'd had enough. Laura was apologetic and did not hesitate to move us to a full hookup site. There were 20+ full hookup sites that stayed vacant the entire duration of our two-week stay. While TT members were allowed to pull in to dump at these sites, you had to go back to the field. Why would you purposely place TT members in a field by the dumpsters and not let them utilize "retail" sites that stay empty for two weeks? This was a fiasco for us, and we will not be back. I hope Jimmy reconsiders the placement of TT members when you have so many regular rv sites not reserved.
We went with the intention of camping in our 5th wheel for 3 nights. We ended up securing a lot for a permanent site, built a deck, underpinned the camper, and out up a railing on the deck. Very happy to be on the nice corner lot in their newest section of the park.
Beautiful campground. Nice, big pool area with huge slide for the kids young and old with great view of the sound. Unfortunately, the slide was closed for the season. Nice Adult area for parties. RV Lots are spacious and flat. The drawback is they don't have any full hookups for Thousand Trails members only water and electric sites. The bath houses are good with individual door entrance for each shower area.
Rooms doesn't apply here. But the service for transit or "perminant", campers WILL be better than expected. They are accommodating. The camp ground has alot of activities for all ages and is a beautiful location!
