Marion County Fairgrounds RV Park is conveniently located at 84 Floral Hall Ln, Lebanon, KY 40033, USA. This address places it directly within the Marion County Fairgrounds, situated in the city of Lebanon. Lebanon itself is a charming town in Central Kentucky, known for its small-town atmosphere and its role as the county seat of Marion County.
The park's location offers several accessibility advantages. For starters, it's easily reachable from major routes in Kentucky, making it a practical stop for travelers passing through or those looking for a centralized base to explore the region. While some visitors have noted that the road coming into the park might have potholes, suggesting a need for careful driving, the overall access to the fairgrounds is straightforward.
Being part of the fairgrounds provides a unique environmental aspect. Guests have direct access to the fairground facilities, which include a ½ mile harness racing track, horse stall barns, and various rings for horse training. This offers an interesting and dynamic view for residents, with one reviewer specifically mentioning the enjoyment of watching daily horse training. This immersive experience into local equestrian culture is a distinct highlight of staying at this location.
Furthermore, Lebanon offers essential amenities such as grocery stores, local dining options, and other services within a short driving distance from the RV park. This convenience allows RVers to easily resupply and access necessary resources without venturing far. For Kentuckians, the location provides a genuine glimpse into rural and community life, away from the more commercialized RV park environments, offering an authentic local experience.
Marion County Fairgrounds RV Park focuses on providing the core necessities for RV camping, prioritizing functionality and value. Based on available information and customer feedback, the following services are offered:
- Full Hookups: A primary service, all 20 RV sites are equipped with full hookups, including water, sewer, and electric connections (20/30/50 amp options). This is a significant convenience for RVers, ensuring comfort and self-sufficiency.
- Electric Hookups: Specifically, sites offer a range of amperage, accommodating various RV power requirements (20 amp, 30 amp, 50 amp).
- Water Hookups: Each site includes a direct water connection for potable water.
- Sewer Hookups: Individual sewer connections are provided at each site, allowing for direct waste disposal.
- Pet-Friendly: Pets are allowed at the park. Guests are responsible for keeping pets on a leash and cleaning up after them, as is standard practice in most RV parks.
- Trash Disposal: Garbage dumpsters are conveniently located at the fairgrounds for residents to dispose of everyday trash.
It's important to note what is generally not offered based on customer reviews. The park does not appear to provide amenities such as on-site bathrooms or showers, nor picnic tables at each site. This indicates a more basic, self-contained RV experience where campers are expected to utilize their RV's facilities. While this might be a limitation for some, it often contributes to the more affordable rates.
Marion County Fairgrounds RV Park, while basic in some amenities, offers unique features and highlights that appeal to a specific segment of RVers, particularly those interested in local Kentucky life and equestrian activities:
- Fairground Setting: The most distinctive feature is its location within the active Marion County Fairgrounds. This provides a dynamic environment where guests can witness and potentially participate in various events held throughout the year, including the Marion County Fair itself.
- Equestrian Activities: For horse enthusiasts, the fairgrounds boast a ½ mile harness racing track, horse stall barns with stalls for rent, and both walking and western horse rings. One reviewer specifically highlighted the enjoyment of "watching the daily horse training," indicating this is a significant draw.
- Affordable Rates: The park offers competitive pricing for its full hookup sites, with daily, weekly, and monthly rates available. This makes it an attractive option for budget-conscious travelers or those seeking long-term stays. Rates are $30 per day Monday through Friday; $35 for weekend stay; $200 weekly; and $550 monthly.
- Long-Term Stay Capability: The availability of monthly rates and the observation that a "majority of the campers are pretty much long-term" suggest it's well-suited for extended stays, providing a stable base for residents.
- Spacious Back-In Sites: Sites are approximately 30-feet by 50-feet and are all back-in, offering ample space for various RV sizes.
- Direct Connection to Local Events: Guests have direct access to fairground events, which can range from the annual Marion County Fair with fireworks and various shows to other specialized events throughout the year.
Some critical feedback from a long-term visitor mentioned issues such as tall grass and weeds in areas not easily mowed, and campfire rings being full of trash or weeds, suggesting inconsistent maintenance in some areas. The presence of potholes on the access road was also noted. While acknowledging these points, the park's fundamental draw remains its full hookups within a unique fairground setting.
Marion County Fairgrounds RV Park primarily communicates its pricing through its daily, weekly, and monthly rates, which already offer a structured form of "special offer" for longer stays, making it more affordable for those planning extended visits. The listed rates are:
- Daily Rate (Monday-Friday): $30 per day
- Weekend Rate: $35 per day
- Weekly Rate: $200 per week
- Monthly Rate: $550 per month
These rates provide a clear pricing structure and value, particularly for weekly and monthly stays, which are notably more economical than short-term stays. For specific promotions beyond these standard flexible rates, such as seasonal discounts or special deals tied to fairground events, it is always recommended to contact the park directly. For residents of Central Kentucky, its location in Lebanon provides easy access without the need for extensive travel, making it perfect for both short-term escapes and longer-term living solutions.
The primary draw for locals is the park's functionality and affordability, particularly with its full hookups for RVs. Customer Reviews
Have stayed here several times over the past 5 years. It seems to be getting worse. The majority of the campers are pretty much long-term, and not all are in very good condition. The county takes care of the mowing and evidently doesn't own a weed Wacker. They only mow within a couple of feet, and there is tall grass around anything that they can't get close to. The morning we were leaving, they came through mowing and were blowing grass and rocks against my camper. I don't think they want you using the campfire ring because they are either full of trash or weeds. Other than having full hookups, there are no other amenities, no bathrooms, or picnic tables. The road coming into the park is full of pot holes, so constantly dodging them.
Loved here twice! Very interesting place. Enjoy watching the daily horse training. It's fun to see the various events held through the year here.
Stayed for one night on our Bourbon Trail trip. Quiet spot for nights rest. Pretty level gravel site. 50/30/110 for power and Full hook ups were fully functional. It's situated next to a horse training facility of some sort. We were lucky enough to have caught them working out some horses early morning.
This is a new, full hookup RV park located on the Marion County Fairgrounds property. It still needs some cleanup work, but is now in full operation.
Husband is staying for work love to watch the horses 🐎 practice from the porch
