Introduction / Overview
For New Hampshire locals who prioritize location, affordability, and direct access to the state's most thrilling outdoor adventures, Mountain Pines Campground in Rumney, NH, serves as a fantastic, no-frills basecamp. Nestled right off the main thoroughfare, this campground is celebrated by its patrons for its prime riverside spots and its close proximity to some of the region's most famous natural attractions, particularly the renowned Rumney Rocks climbing area.
Mountain Pines offers a simpler, more rustic camping experience compared to larger resorts, making it highly appealing to the serious outdoor enthusiast and the budget-conscious traveler. The owners express a friendly and appreciative sentiment towards their customers, often welcoming back their "regulars" and new visitors alike for a great year of camping. It is a place where you can pitch a rooftop tent right by the river, adjust your gear, and immediately immerse yourself in the natural setting of the White Mountains region. While the proximity to Route 25 means there can be some road noise, visitors note that this "eventually dies down," and the value and location are well worth the minor inconvenience.

I lost my phone with all the pictures but this is a great camp. I got a site right in the river and opened my rooftop tent to get a view of it. I had to adjust my starlink a bit but it worked fine. I would gladly spend my money staying here. ($15) A night. ($5) Wood. My only gripe is the road noise but that eventually dies down.

Jun 19, 2025 · Lisa RussellThis spot is a gem! Great vibes. Nice access to the river. The sites are pretty private and quite large. It is parallel to the road so bring ear plugs for sleeping.
Oct 01, 2023 · Rob ClausenKeep a close eye out for the entrance it's easy to pass. The sites very in size, but all are nice with a good bit of space. Many back right up to Baker River or you can walk over to their beach area. The staff is nice and the entrance unique with a lovely garden they maintain. There are a lot of great trails nearby to explore.
