I stayed here (in the main house) with my wife and 4 year old enroute to Boston. We absolutely loved it. The team were super friendly and it's a great building, well kept. Perfect balance to spending time in the big city. Great views and an interesting site. We really enjoyed the local town and local trails. We stayed in the library where our little one found a box of kids books and she was able invited to feed the chickens too so a big win for her :). I would suggest taking some food with you and using the well equiped kitchen or bbq.

Sep 06, 2025 · Ellie NgCan't recommend this place enough. I've stayed at Streeter Mountain Farm twice now this winter and had a great time on both trips. The whole place has a lovely cozy feeling to it. I particularly enjoyed passing time on the couch by their wood stove with their cat Snowpea napping on my lap. The facilities are great. Multiple rooms filled with beds. I visited the first time with a big group of friends, staying in the library. The second time I stayed with just one friend in the yoga room. Both excellent experiences offering great value. I'd recommend the Fireplace Room as a romantic spot for a couple, since it's got two big windows looking out over the property, plus a wood stove for pleasant hygge vibes. So far Streeter seems to be a bit of an undiscovered gem, so you'll often have the place to yourself, which I also appreciate. And the wifi is very good if you'd like to get work done during your visit. They've got snowshoes and XC ski gear to lend out, and the grounds are also fun to explore on foot. The cats also like to come along when you walk out, so you may be able to enjoy their company on your nearby excursions. Speaking of good company, Josh and Catherine are wonderful hosts. It was good chatting with them and the other folks who live and work around the property. At one point I lost my winter hat, and Josh offered me one of his to keep me warm on the return trip. Catherine also gave us a jump when our car battery died and recommended a good local mechanic for another issue. The area is excellent too. On this last trip my friend and I chose Streeter for its proximity to Lake Morey Resort, where we like exploring their ~4 mile ice skating trail (highly recommend it! A very different experience from skating in a rink, and they have rentals available). Green Woodlands is also a very short drive away and they have even more free XC gear available to borrow. And if you prefer being in a town, Plymouth is nearby and full of cute shops and cafes. I recommend JJ's Breakfast and Lunch Counter for great diner food.
Feb 27, 2025 · Steve TrambertFantastic two night stay in the apple house! We loved the kitty cats, the warm fire/woodstove in our hut and using the big house kitchen and dining area. Josh was super helpful and knowledgeable about advice with places to run and XC ski! And eat
