For New York State residents looking for a tranquil, affordable, and accessible getaway right in the heart of Central New York, North Bay Campgrounds presents a premier local destination. Situated on the picturesque shore of Lake Neatahwanta in Fulton, this campground is a City of Fulton-owned facility, managed to provide an optimal balance of natural scenery and essential amenities. It is a true 'home-away-from-home' for those who prefer the outdoors—visitors bring their own accommodations, whether it be a tent, camper, or RV.
The campground operates seasonally, typically opening from mid-May through mid-October, perfectly encompassing the region's best warm-weather months. It offers a variety of site types to suit different preferences, including wooded sites for deep shade and seclusion, open clearing sites for sun exposure, and highly desirable waterfront sites with scenic views. The lakefront setting provides a peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle, making it a perfect spot for families, couples, and individuals looking to recharge in a natural environment without traveling far from home. North Bay Campgrounds embraces the spirit of classic New York camping with a welcoming atmosphere and a focus on essential outdoor activities.
North Bay Campgrounds benefits from a prime location that feels miles away from the city yet remains remarkably close to daily conveniences and the larger Central New York infrastructure.

The campgrounds are set directly on the shore of Lake Neatahwanta, a substantial body of water that translates to “little lake near the big lake” in Iroquois, referencing its proximity to Lake Ontario. While the setting is peaceful and quiet, as confirmed by resident reviews, the park is less than 10 minutes from the City of Fulton's core. This means campers have quick and easy access to local amenities, including gas stations, stores, banks, and places of worship, ensuring that stocking up on supplies is never a complicated chore.
Accessibility is primarily by road, making it an ideal drive-in destination for RVs and tow vehicles. Importantly for local visitors, the campground is strategically located just four miles from the popular Fulton Speedway, making it a highly convenient lodging option during major racing events like the Outlaw 200 Weekend and Super DIRT Week. Furthermore, a short trail hike from the campground leads directly to Bullhead Point, a popular local spot featuring a picturesque walking pier, dining options, and a pavilion that hosts city-sponsored concerts, broadening the recreational and entertainment options available to campers.
North Bay Campgrounds is structured to provide fundamental, high-quality services for both long-term seasonal campers and short-term daily visitors.
The community-focused features and natural attributes of North Bay Campgrounds are what set it apart as a preferred choice for local New York outdoor enthusiasts.

North Bay Campgrounds is uniquely suitable for New York residents, especially those living in the Central and Upstate regions, as it delivers an authentic, accessible camping experience without the complexity or travel time of distant retreats. As a City of Fulton park, it offers highly reasonable rates for both daily and seasonal stays, presenting a genuinely affordable vacation option for families and individuals. The park perfectly captures the essence of a local favorite: it’s close enough to be convenient for a quick weekend escape, yet its lakefront, wooded setting on Lake Neatahwanta makes it feel like a true vacation spot.
The combination of practical amenities—water and electric hookups, a dump station, and bathhouses—with attractive recreational features—a beach, boat launch, playground, and connection to Bullhead Point—makes it a well-rounded choice. For a local New Yorker, North Bay Campgrounds eliminates the hassle of long drives, providing a quiet, scenic, and well-managed site to reconnect with nature, enjoy the water, and participate in the local culture, whether that means a peaceful fishing trip or a high-octane weekend at the nearby Fulton Speedway. It is an established, dependable, and cherished part of the Oswego County outdoor landscape.

It's a camp ground, so no rooms. Stayed overnight in the smaller area, as you enter on the right. Very quiet. A couple of downsides to the site, a bit of home to the toilet, even further to the shower and a lack of outlets to recharge. Don't let those items stop you. The hosts are great, as is the site. Nice views and enough room between sites.
