For those who cherish the great outdoors, Pahokee Campground is a paradise waiting to be explored. Nature enthusiasts will be delighted by the abundant birdwatching opportunities, with a diverse array of avian species gracing the skies and waters. The well-maintained walking trails along the top of the Herbert Hoover Dike provide a fantastic way to explore the area, offering panoramic views of the lake and its surroundings. Keep an eye out for alligators, as their presence adds an exciting and authentically Floridian element to your visit. After a day of exploration, you can cool off and relax in the campground's well-kept swimming pool, a perfect amenity for those warm Florida days.

While the tranquility and natural beauty are undeniable draws, it’s worth noting the campground's remote location. Situated approximately 34 miles from the nearest town, Pahokee Campground offers true solitude. This means that planning ahead for supplies and necessities is highly recommended to ensure a comfortable stay. Despite its many charms and amenities, including spacious RV sites with individual dump stations, the campground remains surprisingly underutilized. Even during peak winter season weekends, it's often only about 30% occupied, creating an atmosphere of uncrowded serenity. The marina, similarly, sees very little traffic, with perhaps only 5% occupancy, making it an incredibly peaceful spot for boating enthusiasts who value privacy. This lack of crowds, however, is precisely what makes Pahokee Campground so appealing to those seeking true solitude and tranquility in a beautiful natural setting.

Even with its peaceful ambiance and lower occupancy, the community spirit among the campers at Pahokee is notable. Neighbors are friendly, contributing to a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere. Far from being run-down, the facilities are consistently maintained to a high standard, reflecting a commitment to providing a quality experience. The presence of a huge gator floating off the coast upon arrival is a testament to the rich natural conservation efforts in the area, offering a unique glimpse into Florida's wild side. Each site being equipped with its own dump station is a convenient feature for RV campers, simplifying waste management during your stay. An onsite manager is available to assist with any needs or questions, further enhancing the comfort and security of your visit. The facility is meticulously maintained, ensuring a clean and welcoming environment. The camp host is known for their friendliness and helpfulness, adding to the overall positive experience. The campgrounds are quiet and pristine, making it an ideal spot for a peaceful retreat. Nature enthusiasts will appreciate the abundant birdwatching opportunities and the great walking trails along the top of the berm. The presence of alligators adds an element of excitement and interest to the visit. Additionally, the campground boasts a well-kept swimming pool, perfect for a refreshing dip. The primary downside is its remote location, being 34 miles from the nearest town. This means visitors need to plan ahead for supplies and necessities. There’s a lot of rvs here but it’s such a huge park it is probably about 30% occupied in the peak winter season on a Saturday. The marina is deserted with about 10 boats, maybe 5% occupancy. Huge restaurant and outdoor tiki bar looks permanently closed. The neighbors are friendly and it isn’t run down. There was a huge gator floating off the coast when I arrived. Seems like a lot of nature conservation in the area. Each site has its own dump. There is an onsite manager. I have t mobile and have great service here.

I had an awesome time camping at Pahokee Campground! I booked with Sheryl over the phone, and she booked me an awesome campground! The campsites are clean, well dispersed, and have all the amenities you need For tent campers like me, you could plug your electronics to the electric supply at the site if need be. There's also water, and great great bathrooms. I camped here in the winter, and the bathrooms were clean, warm, smelled good, and overall, very inviting! Staff is great and helpful There is a great walking/running trail all along the rim of the lake. Great spot to camp- highly recommended!! Thanks again Sheryl!

UNSAFE. DIRTY. DO NOT STAY HERE. We thought a municipal marina and campsite sounded nice but regret everything about traveling to Pahokee. Campsite is about 20% full of run down trailers with garbage strewn everywhere. No water in the women’s bathrooms. Not hot water in men’s showers. First site we were assigned was littered with previous campers garbage (cutlery, pots and pans). The second was littered with used tissues and toilet paper. Paid $125 upfront for two nights for a dry site (!!!) and left first thing in the morning as it was so uncomfortable. Around 1am we heard people walking around the back of our camper. Tried to raise these issues with the woman at the front desk and she clearly did not care. So we left. Keep our money, Pahokee. You obviously need it. The town itself is not somewhere tourists should travel…. Garbage strewn everywhere. My partner was approached by someone who recently left prison and asked for one of our bikes. This was most certainly the worst part of our trip. I’d rather sleep in a gas station or rest stop than there.

For the absence of kindness from the woman in the office. After two trials, we had a very small site between two annual residents (parked very close to the water with big rig) and were not able to have the beautiful view. Many beautiful places were disponible on the night. When we asked her for the farthest site she had disponible, she answered that she was her that choose our site! I wondered why she did not pay our bill too… Unfortunately 1/3 full yesterday. The camping is beautiful but need love as well as the marina. The city should place a reservation by internet to make it easier for the people…
