Accessing these secluded campsites requires navigating a approximately four-mile winding, low-maintenance road. While this road contributes to the sense of privacy and rustic appeal, it means visitors should be prepared for a less-traveled path. For Wisconsin locals, particularly those from the northern parts of the state, Florence is a known destination for outdoor pursuits. As a public boat landing and camp site managed by a utility company (WE Energy, likely in collaboration with local authorities), the Pine River Flowage Boat Landing and Camp Sites (South End) typically operates on a standardized, set fee structure rather than offering commercial "promotions" or "special offers" in the traditional sense. The value proposition here is its inherent affordability and the unique rustic, secluded experience it provides, which often comes at a higher cost at private campgrounds.
The "Good price" mentioned by a reviewer suggests that the standard rates for these campsites are already quite reasonable, making it a consistent and attractive option for budget-conscious campers. Any fees would likely be for campsite reservations and would be fixed. It is advisable for prospective campers to contact the management body, likely the relevant county forest and park department or WE Energy if they handle direct bookings, to inquire about current rates, reservation procedures, and availability. While specific discounts for groups, extended stays, or off-peak seasons are generally not common for this type of public/utility-managed site, confirming current policies by phone is always the best approach. The main "offer" is the consistent, high-quality, and affordable rustic camping experience itself.

Nice getaway for camping/glamping. This location has 3 campsite (2 on the river and 1 just off of) There is water on site. (Hand pump.) It's a mile from a local ATV trail - Clearly marked no ATV/ORV. No electricity at the site. Has two outhouses. WE Energy staff came almost daily to change trash or clean/stock outhouses. Good price. Currently apart of our top 5 list.
If you’re looking for a quiet, secluded, and rustic campsite (there are 2 total) this is it. Accessed by a four mile, winding, low maintenance road. Water comes from hand pump well. One outhouse for both sites. Each site has its own picnic table and fire pit. The boat launch is more like a gravel road leading to a beach, which isn’t very deep - you’ll have to back your truck significantly into the water to get your boat off the trailer. Other than the WE energies dam, there is no human development of this flowage. It’s very scenic, quiet, and relaxing.
It's absolutely gorgeous and peaceful.
It sure did rain a lot.
