Red's RV Park About
For Virginians, and indeed for those traveling through our beautiful Commonwealth, finding the perfect RV park isn't just about a place to park; it's about finding a comfortable, welcoming, and peaceful home-away-from-home. This is especially true for those who live the RV lifestyle full-time or for extended periods, such as traveling professionals. While Virginia boasts many RV destinations, a truly exceptional long-term option can be a rare find. Enter Red's RV Park in South Boston, a hidden gem that consistently earns rave reviews for its unparalleled tranquility, spaciousness, and the genuine hospitality of its owners.
Red's RV Park is not your typical high-turnover, transient RV campground. Instead, it operates as a premier destination for extended stays, catering to those who truly live in their RVs, like traveling nurses or remote workers. Its philosophy is clearly focused on providing a comfortable, stable, and incredibly peaceful living environment. Described by one long-term resident as "the best RV park that we have ever been in," Red's RV Park consistently exceeds expectations for its quality of life.
What sets this park apart is its commitment to spaciousness and quiet. Situated on approximately ten acres of land, residents have full access to ample open space, perfect for children to play freely and pets to roam safely. The park's location on a dead-end street ensures minimal traffic, contributing to its profoundly serene atmosphere. The owners are highlighted as "wonderful, wonderful people" who genuinely care for the property and their residents, fostering a welcoming and well-maintained community. While finding an available spot can be challenging due to its popularity and limited vacancies, securing a spot at Red's RV Park is considered a highly fortunate opportunity for those seeking a tranquil and high-quality extended RV stay in Virginia.
Red's RV Park is advantageously located on State Rte 658, South Boston, VA 24592, USA. South Boston is a charming town in Halifax County, Virginia, known for its rich history, vibrant local culture, and connection to the greater Southside Virginia region. This location offers the best of both worlds: a peaceful, rural setting that feels secluded, yet remains conveniently accessible to local amenities and regional attractions.
The park's specific address on State Route 658, at the very end of a dead-end street, is a key factor in its remarkable tranquility. This ensures that residents experience minimal vehicle traffic and noise, creating a truly serene living environment. Despite its secluded feel, Red's RV Park is still within a reasonable driving distance to the town of South Boston, where residents can access grocery stores, pharmacies, local restaurants, and other essential services. Larger cities and attractions in Central Virginia or even North Carolina are also within reach for day trips or longer excursions.
For RVers, accessibility for various rig sizes is implicitly suggested by its suitability for "fifth wheels" and long-term residents. The roads leading to and within the park are designed to accommodate these vehicles, ensuring a smooth arrival and departure. This combination of peaceful seclusion and practical accessibility makes Red's RV Park a highly desirable location for those seeking an extended RV living experience in Southern Virginia.
- Spacious RV Sites: While the exact number of sites isn't specified, the park is known for offering ample space per site, accommodating large RVs like fifth wheels.
- Full Hookups: As a park catering to long-term residents, it undoubtedly provides full utility hookups, including electricity (likely 30/50 amp), water, and sewer connections at each site.

- Pet-Friendly Environment: The large open areas are ideal for pets to run and play safely, making it a welcoming place for animal companions.

- On-Site Management/Owners: The park is owned and operated by a "wonderful family" who are actively involved in taking care of everything, implying responsive management.
- Waste Disposal: Essential for RV living, waste management services would be in place, likely including trash collection.

- Community Feel (Implied): The park's appeal to long-term residents and active owner involvement suggests a strong sense of community.
Given that Red's RV Park is highly sought after and often has very limited availability (as noted by a reviewer, sometimes only 2 spots open at a time), it is unlikely that they regularly run typical "promotions" or "special offers" such as discounted rates or seasonal deals. The high demand for their limited spots means they typically operate at near full capacity based on their established pricing structure.
However, for an RV park that focuses on extended stays, "offers" might come in other forms, such as:
- Competitive Monthly Rates: Their value proposition likely lies in providing a premium, peaceful long-term living experience at a competitive monthly rate that appeals to full-time RVers.
- Inclusion of Utilities: Often, for extended stays, utilities like water, sewer, and electricity might be included in the monthly rent, simplifying budgeting for residents.
- Personalized Service: The "wonderful, wonderful people" who own the park may offer exceptional personalized service and care, which, while not a discount, is a significant added value that attracts and retains residents.
The primary "special offer" from Red's RV Park is the opportunity to secure a spot in a highly coveted, peaceful, and well-managed long-term RV community. If you are fortunate enough to find an opening, the strong recommendation is to "snatch it." Prospective residents should contact the park directly to inquire about current rates, availability, and any specific terms for extended stays.

Customer Reviews
My wife is a traveling nurse, so therefore we typically move about every 3 months to a new rv park. Since we live in a fifth wheel. We have now been doing this for 2 years, so obviously we move a lot, all over the country. I can honestly say this is the best RV park that we have ever been in. The pictures do not even do it justice. Unfortunately, if you're looking for a spot, there are only 2 spots available. If you are fortunate enough to call this place and they have an opening, I highly suggest that you snatch it. The property sits on about ten acres of which you have full access to. Your kids or your pets can run and play and not worry about a care in the world. This is on a dead end street at the very end, so there is minimal traffic. The family that owns this are wonderful, wonderful people, and really take care of everything. If you are ever in the area or plan on coming this way, definitely give these folks a call, you'll be very glad that you did.
