We have been loyal visitors to this campground for over 20 years and have always appreciated the experience — until now. We arrived at 12:53 PM for our 1 PM check-in, just seven minutes early, after driving 2 1/2 hours to be there by 1pm, I was told I was early, I left my phone in the truck so I asked well what time is it knowing it had to be close to check-in and I was told 12:53, I asked are you serious, Kim, the manager, immediately told the staff to charge us a $25 early check-in fee. Although the staff member at the desk decided not to charge us, we were told this was our “one warning” for the stay. I asked a warning? Yes! I felt like I couldn’t really enjoy this rest of our stay now that I’ve been tagged with a warning already, if everyone waits till exactly 1 pm to check it would take forever getting everyone checked in. Note I’m not trying to get a free pass or voucher to make up for the stay, you can keep that Ms. Kim. Last month, we arrived an hour early, and the staff told us our campsite was ready and that we could go ahead and set up — no issues at all, but don’t remember Ms. Kim being there that day. When i made the reservation I asked for a spot if possible on fort ave. The nice young lady on the phone said we will do if we can and I will be sure to put a note in your reservations so we will know if a spot comes available This time, however, we were assigned the very back site, the worst available. Site 112, in the maintenance dept. With blowers and equipment and workers steady in and out, It felt like a punishment rather than hospitality. Please note that this campground is owned by the City of Tybee, and the way long-term, loyal guests are treated now is disheartening. If Kim owned this campground herself, I imagine she would greet guests with a smile and gratitude for their continued business. Go the days that Kim is off and if you call for reservation make sure you talk to the younger nicer lady’s and not Kim, you will have a nice relaxing time. All other staff was great and helpful getting in.
Jun 08, 2025 · Lindy WilsonThe location of this camping area is perfect. Just a short walk to the ocean and Rivers end has all the amenities you need. The people and staff are very friendly and everything is well maintained. They set the sites up perfect. I stayed there a weekend in May and could not be happier. There is a store, a pool, laundry facilities, shower house and a full time staff to take care of the place. I strongly recommend this place. It is amazing.
May 20, 2025 · Palomar 54Very clean and tidy park. Facilities are also clean and kept up well. Nice pool and very family oriented. Great for summer vacations but fills up quick so plan ahead. The little cabins are adorable. They even have spots for tent camping.
May 29, 2025 · Sarah MillerThis was our 3rd stop at River’s End. We absolutely love it. We stopped on our way home from winter in the Keys. It is charming and was the perfect respite for the last leg of our trip. The location is within walking distance to North Beach where you can walk for miles. It’s an easy bike ride into town if you want to take in the fun along South Beach. Also an easy trip into Savannah. Give it a try, we think you’ll love it as much as we do.
Mar 24, 2025 · Linda ReandeauThis is our 2nd time camping here, and both times have been exceptional. From site, cleanliness, staff is friendly, and informative. Convenience....ccard on file takes care of any purchases made in the camp store while you are here. Wonderful Island, and locals are friendly (especially at the city's dog park 7:00 a.m. Daily if you want to get the skinny on the area restaurants, bars, etc.) My husband and I love this community! Thank you.😉
