I just spent the month of June, 2024 at Shady Oaks Campground & RV Park. The owners, Chuck and Richard were gracious and made me feel very welcomed. The park has a rustic charm with tall trees, forested area and nice large spots to park your RV. There is even a playground for the kids! I was traveling in a van, so there was more than sufficient space. If you are traveling in a larger RV, there is plenty of room to maneuver and park your big rig. I originally traveled with friends that were driving a 43 foot diesel pusher and they fit fine. The owners shared that they are making improvements and this was evident during my stay. They have a small laundry room that included washers and dryers. The cost for laundry was reasonable. The bath house is newly renovated. I have included several pictures with this review. Overall - it was a great place to stay while visiting Tawas City, going fishing or just enjoying the beauty of the great community. Thanks Chuck and Richard - I look forward to visiting again next year!

We’ve been seasonal campers for 3 years now, with all of our children and extended family visiting often. We have very much enjoyed the atmosphere and hospitality of the owners Chuck and Richard. It’s beautiful and quiet and just what you’d imagine for a relaxing camping trip. Even though they have steadily been making improvements to the property, prices remain consistent and the “Hidden gem” quality stays.

Spent Memorial Day weekend here and to say we loved it is an understatement. Chuck and Richard, the owners, treated us like family. We have 5 kids total between our 2 families. The older kids and younger ones were all able to stay busy and have a blast the entire weekend. It felt safe, everyone that stays there seasonal were very kind, it was all around a great experience for all of us. Clean showers and bathrooms! Definitely recommend. 😃

From the moment we called, Chuck, the owner, was super informative, friendly and accommodating to my family of 6. The campground was quiet but everyone we encountered was friendly. Chuck made sure we knew our way around the grounds and brought us firewood right to our plot. He made us feel welcome and treated our kids really well. Honestly, in this day and age it is SO HARD to find the bare minimum customer service, and this place went above and beyond extraordinary service. Thank you, Chuck! Hope to see you again in the warmer months! 😉

We stayed at Shady oaks for the first time last weekend for a family camping trip. Chuck was the most welcoming manager I have came across and I have been camping most of my life. They have made many upgrades to the park and are always finding ways to improve. The campground has many trees and feels like you are in nature. We had deer behind our site every morning and evening. We had electric and water at our site and both were in great working conditions. We have two dogs and Chuck even had welcome treats for them. The bathhouse was very clean and well maintained. Very nice park and close to town and the river. Would highly recommend this park.
