Introduction / Overview
For Connecticut residents seeking a fresh, modern, and amenity-rich outdoor experience, Skyridge Trails Campground is Torrington's newest and most exciting camping destination. Situated on a sprawling 365-acre property of scenic forest and farmland in the beautiful hills of northwestern Connecticut, this campground first opened its doors in 2024. It was thoughtfully designed to offer a blend of natural serenity and contemporary comfort, catering primarily to the RV community but also welcoming tent campers and those looking for a cabin retreat.
Skyridge Trails provides guests with stunning, expansive views of the surrounding Litchfield Hills and Berkshire foothills, offering a picturesque backdrop for a weekend or seasonal stay. The owners have prioritized creating a big-rig-friendly environment with wide roads and generously sized, level sites. This attention to detail is evident in the uniformly level lots made from small trap rock and the provision of full hookups at every campsite. While the landscape is currently described as being in its developing phase—offering more open sky views than deep shade—the overall impression from local campers is one of a clean, quiet, and friendly retreat with incredible potential. The highlight for many visitors is the impressive man-made swimming pond, complete with a private beach, which quickly becomes the star of any summer visit. Skyridge Trails Campground is quickly establishing itself as a premier spot for Connecticut families looking for a top-tier, modern camping resort experience.
The atmosphere is consistently praised for being both nice and quiet, fostering a welcoming community feel, with staff noted for being super friendly and professional. Whether you are settling in for a short two-night stay or looking into a seasonal site, this Torrington gem promises a peaceful and high-quality base camp for exploring the best of the Northwest Corner.

New campground as of 2024. We stayed for 2 overnights and enjoyed our stay. Met some really nice people during our visit. Not much landscaping as of yet, but the man-made pond is absolutely the star of this campground. As is the sunrise. Incredible. Sites are level. Fire pits at each site as well as a picnic table. Disappointed that when designing the campground, they left out a restroom/shower building in the lower field area. After disconnecting from water and sewer, it would be nice to have facilities to use without having to wait until you pull your rig to the exit. The only restrooms are located up on the hill behind the office. There is also a port-a-potty at the pond area. We stayed early July and checked out right before the holiday weekend. We would stay here again but not until they plant some trees to help with shade. We live in CT, 2 hours from Skyridge, and traveled in a 35 ft fifth wheel.
Jul 08, 2025 · Gale6/1/25 ... nice, quiet, and clean. Sites are out in the open / no bushes or trees for privacy. WiFi is okay, no CATV, but you do pick up a few dozens HD off airs. Dirt roads & level lots made from small trap rock. Bathrooms are clean, and they are only located at the office - they are in need of a restroom at the opposite end of their property, down by the sites. They have a nice little camp store with most of your necessities.
Jun 06, 2025 · B. CoffeyI loved the cleanliness, warm atmosphere, great kids activities. The grounds were meticulous and the staff were helpful. We weren’t able to swim bc it was too cold but I’m looking forward to coming back.
Sep 15, 2025 · jennifer cioffia great campground that is gowing into its own. If you have a camper/ rv/ popup this is an ideal campground. As of the moment tent camping would be a challange due to sites being laid with trap rock so you'd need a thick matt or air mattress for comfort. Bathroom and showers where great. at the moment there is only one up by the office/check in area and im sure over time another will be added.. as a newer campground there is not much in terms of shade or trees but alot of effort and time has been put in with the planting of trees and shrubs that over the years will fill in and really give you more. Grounds crew was out daily keeping the place looking great. The swimming pond is a great feature and id really recommend bringing inflatables cause you can spend hours just floating around. Fishing pond is also still young with a newer roadway put in as a dam to help with water retention and growth. it goes back pretty far but has very limited access to where you can fish with kids. again with time it will def get better . needs a bit more flow to keep water from getting cloudy and overgrown but there are alot of great lakes and ponds around the site within short drives. They do accept BBU barter as well which is great as not alot of sites do. It was really quite and other guests staying friendly. Lots of fur babies so dog lovers will love this place. Strong wifi, strong water pressure and each site had full hook up, drains and power. Owners put alot of time, money and effort and are still developing this place so it def worth booking. Would recommend and stay again.
Jul 18, 2025 · chrisAll staff were amazing! I had a wonderful time with my family this weekend! Do wish the golf carts were a little bit less restrictive. Overall cozy campground with large open sites, delicious slushies, beautiful mountain views with the best sunsets ever! Will definitely be coming back.
